Strengthening Our Faith
Summer 2026
As we begin our summer break, we are reminded that our faith does not take a vacation. While the routines of school may pause for a few months, our call to grow closer to God continues wherever summer may take us.
We pray that our students enjoy a season filled with rest, joy, adventure, and time spent with family and friends. Whether they are working on academic pursuits, attending camps, participating in athletics, volunteering, traveling, or simply enjoying a slower pace, may they always remember that Christ walks beside them in every moment.
For many of our students, this summer will mark their first experience in the workforce. We offer our prayers and encouragement as they begin new jobs, learn valuable skills, and discover the dignity of honest work. May they approach these opportunities with integrity, responsibility, and a spirit of service, reflecting the values they have learned as Crusaders.
We also extend our prayers to the many families who will be traveling throughout the summer months. May God grant you safe passage, protect you on every journey, and bring you home safely. May your travels provide opportunities to witness the beauty of God's creation, encounter new experiences, and create lasting memories with those you love.
This summer also offers several meaningful opportunities for reflection and gratitude. On Father's Day, we give thanks for the fathers, grandfathers, godfathers, and father figures who guide, protect, and sacrifice for their families. May God bless them abundantly for the love and example they provide.
On Juneteenth, we remember the long journey toward freedom and equality in our nation. As Catholics, we are reminded of the inherent dignity of every human person, created in the image and likeness of God. May we continue to work toward a society marked by justice, charity, and respect for all.
As our nation commemorates its 250th Independence Day, we give thanks for the blessings of liberty and the countless men and women who have served our country throughout its history. We are especially mindful of our school motto, Pro Deo Et Patria—For God and Country—which reminds us that our love of nation is strengthened when rooted in faith, virtue, and service to others.
Throughout the summer, let us continue to make time for prayer, participate in the Holy Sacrifice of the Mass each Sunday, and seek opportunities to serve those in need. In doing so, we remain connected not only to our faith, but also to one another as a Catholic community.
May God bless each member of our Pensacola Catholic family with a safe, joyful, and faith-filled summer. We look forward to welcoming everyone back in the fall, refreshed and ready for another year of learning, growth, and service.

• The four-page FHSAA EL2 Physical Form (version “Revised 2/26” or later) is the ONLY form version accepted at this event.
• Parent/Guardian signatures on pages 2 & 4 are REQUIRED for event entry. Without a parent signature on both pages, the student-athlete will not receive an examination that day.
• Prior to arrival, pages 1 & 2 must be filled out entirely and legibly, along with the name and demographic information at the top of pages 3 & 4.
• CHS administrators will be on-site to collect your student-athlete’s physical upon completion.
• Student-athletes should wear athletic attire and bring/wear any prescription eyewear.
• ECGs will be available onsite, also on June 6, through Who We Play For. If an ECG screening assessment is desired, each student-athlete’s parent/guardian will need to complete the Who We Play For pre-registration online at this link and select Santa Rosa County, FL. Slots are limited and early registration is highly encouraged. See this flyer for more details. ECG Screening is now required for all incoming 9th graders who plan to participate in a sport at CHS and for any 10th-12th grade athlete who has never played an FHSAA-sanctioned sport prior to the 2026-27 school year. Athletic Eligibility Requirements
The athletic eligibility requirements for 2025-26 and 2026-27 can be accessed from our school website.
Physicals are good for 1 year or 365 days from the date the physical is conducted. Athletes will not be able to compete in any event, contest, or tryout unless they have a physical on file with our CHS Compliance Office that is current and covers the competition period. All physicals for 2025-26 must be completed on the new EL2 form. Please fill out all sections of the EL2 form that apply to you prior to going in for the physical.
Athletes also need to update or create their online clearance each year. They will not be permitted to participate in an athletic contest without a current Athletic Clearance. Instructions for this process can be located on our website.
NEW: ECG Screening Requirement Beginning July 1, 2026
Beginning on July 1, 2026 all incoming 9th-grade student-athletes (2026-27) and any student in grades 10-12 who plans to participate in a sport and who has never participated in a FHSAA-sanctioned sport must obtain an ECG. (Returning athletes are not required but strongly encouraged to obtain an ECG. The goal is to identify undetected cardiac risk factors and enhance athlete safety.) Documentation: A one-page standardized form (EL1) will confirm ECG completion, including: Parent/Guardian attestation, Clinician verification, and Referral information , if needed. Any follow-up that is requested by the medical professional will require the completion of the Form EL1/2s.
An ECG performed on or after July 1, 2024 will satisfy the requirement.
Parents can visit WhoWePlayFor.org for local screening opportunities, contact Athletic Director Matt Adams, or consult with their family health care provider.
Name, Image & Likeness (NIL) Deals
The FHSAA has created a resource page for any student-athlete wanting to learn about the recently approved NIL bylaws. It is imperative that any athlete that enters into a NIL deal/contract adhere to these bylaws to the letter. They are also required to submit a completed Form GA1 Affidavit of Amateurism to the Athletic Compliance Department within five (5) business days of signing a Name, Image, and Likeness (NIL) agreement.

Summer Reading Program
The purpose of the CHS Summer Reading Program is to encourage and support independent reading and instill a love of reading in our students. The ability to read well and on a regular basis is crucial to college and career success. Recognizing this, the CHS English Department has a year-round reading program which includes required outside reading during the summer months.
The Summer Reading Program includes three books for Honors/AP students and two books for ACP/CP/G levels. Details of the program can be found by clicking here.
Students will be tested on the assigned reading during the first week of the 2026-27 school year.

Mr. Lupton's New Book
Crusader Author Spotlight: Nick Lupton
Pensacola Catholic High School is proud to celebrate one of our own, science teacher Nick Lupton, on the publication of his new novel, Avignon: The Long Road Home.
Blending compelling storytelling with memorable characters and a journey of discovery, Avignon: The Long Road Home marks an exciting achievement for Mr. Lupton as he shares his passion for writing with readers beyond the classroom. His dedication to learning, creativity, and lifelong growth serves as an inspiration to our students and school community.
Community members are invited to meet Mr. Lupton and learn more about his new book during a book signing event on Saturday, June 13, from 2:00–4:00 p.m. at Coastal County Brewing. Copies of the book will be available for purchase and signing.
Please join us in congratulating Mr. Lupton on this accomplishment and supporting a fellow Crusader as he embarks on this exciting new chapter as a published author.

ParentSquare will replace Remind and will become the main method we use to communicate with parents and students through text messages. Constant Contact will continue to be used for email messaging to all constituents.
This new platform will allow us to provide more consistent, streamlined communication for important announcements, reminders, updates, and school information via texting. Additional details regarding setup and access will be shared in the weeks leading up to July 1 so that all parents can experience a seamless transition to ParentSquare as the platform through which we will send text messages.

Summer Opportunities & Scholarships
Our Guidance Office has been working diligently to make you and our students aware of the many postsecondary scholarship offers available to our students. Full information on them is available through our Guidance Office webpage. The landing page is instructional and there are several tabs at the bottom of the spreadsheet to match whatever interests your students may have. They include: Local, Military, Specific Major, Specific School, Specific Qualification, and All Other. We encourage everyone to pursue these scholarship opportunities.
Also, through a different section of the Guidance webpage, the Guidance Office has added a section for Summer Opportunities and Work Experience. There are many amazing opportunities listed that are available to our students! To name a few: Arete: An Introduction to the Classics in Dallas; BCYC Immersion at Benedictine College; CatholicTech: Intro to Computer Science or Intro to Space Sciences and Engineering, both in Italy; Communication and Media Preview (CAMP) and/or Introduction to Engineering at the University of Alabama; Engineering New Frontiers and/or Experiences in Architecture at Catholic University in Washington, DC; Science, Theology, and the Pursuit of Wisdom in Austria! The list goes on and on.
The Summer Opportunities offer a wide range of domestic and international experiences, with varying costs associated with each one. Several of them offer financial assistance so that anyone wanting to attend can do so. There is a tab within the spreadsheet for those offers. There are also some online opportunities for those who are unable or do not wish to travel.
Should you have any questions about any of these opportunities, you can contact our Guidance Office and the appropriate person will be happy to assist you.

Concussion Baseline Testing
Concussion Baseline Testing will take place on the CHS campus on Monday, June 15. It is highly recommended for all student-athletes. Each athlete should receive testing once every two years, so we are asking all freshmen and juniors, and anyone else who did not participate in the testing last year, to be there at the designated time in the graphic to the right.
Make sure that the Consent Form is filled out prior to arriving for baseline testing.
Call our athletic trainer, Faith Auvil, at (304) 613-5033 with any questions.

They are a powerful way for them to learn about how special of a place Catholic High is and could be for them in the future. Click here to learn about the camps currently being offered. Please share this link and the graphic with anyone you know who may have kids who are interested in having some fun with our teams this summer.

Help Us Build Our Field Sports Complex
We’re excited to share new momentum on the New Athletic Field Complex. What started as a vision is quickly becoming a reality, thanks to the incredible generosity of our Crusader community.
In recent weeks, we’ve made major progress. Light poles and fixtures have now been installed on all three fields, irrigation has been completed, the sprinkler system is now up and running, all grass has been laid-- on all three fields and spaces in-between fields, and the driving/parking spaces have been milled! Bleacher seating was added this week, giving the space an even more complete, game-day feel. Each of these milestones brings us one step closer to realizing a vision that will benefit our students and athletic programs for years to come. We are excited to announce that beginning Monday, June 8, our teams will have access to the new fields and can begin utilizing the facility throughout the summer.
The new complex, located just south of our existing track, will feature three additional fields to support Football, Boys & Girls Lacrosse, and Boys & Girls Soccer. With 10–15 teams across Varsity, JV, and Freshman levels, these fields will provide much-needed space for practices and development. As a result, our Track, Baseball, and Softball programs will also benefit from more consistent access to their own facilities.
This space will serve more than just our athletic teams. It will also be used by our Physical Education classes, the Catholic Youth Sports League (CYSL), and our neighbors at Mother Clelia Morning Star High School, further strengthening the connection across our campus community.
Phase I includes the full development of the three fields, along with lighting, irrigation, sod, access roads, fencing, a scoreboard, and bleacher seating on the primary field. Looking ahead, Phase II will continue to enhance the complex as a true competition venue, with plans for a fieldhouse with concessions and restrooms, and expanded parking.
The timeline for Phase II will depend on continued support through our Capital Campaign. If you haven’t yet explored the campaign website, we encourage you to take a look. It highlights not only this project, but also the many improvements made possible by those who have invested in Catholic High before us.
We are incredibly grateful for the progress we’ve made and for the community that continues to make it possible. We look forward to sharing more updates soon as this exciting project continues to take shape.
The pictures shown below were taken on Friday, June 29.

National Flight Academy
The National Flight Academy is offering a 6-Day, 5-Night summer deployment experience.
From the moment they arrive at National Flight Academy, students ages 10–17 are immersed in a team-driven environment. Each student is assigned to a squadron, a structured group that symbolizes unity, teamwork, and shared purpose.
Students live alongside their squadron, following a consistent daily schedule that emulates life as a naval aviator aboard our simulated 102,000 sq ft aircraft carrier, AMBITION (CVT-11). From the moment they step aboard AMBITION, each day centers on humanitarian-based missions and squadron challenges, giving students a strong sense of purpose from day one.
Each student takes on a role within their squadron, discovering strengths while collaborating with peers and building lasting friendships. As the week unfolds, they’re introduced to exciting STEM pathways, many they may not have considered before, through hands-on challenges and shared problem-solving. Some step into leadership roles, while others focus on strategy or communication, but every contribution plays a part in the team’s success.
This isn’t just something they attend, it’s something they actively experience together. For more information click here.

Great Gift with a Dual Purpose
The next few months have several occasions for gift-giving such as a birthday, anniversary, Valentine's Day, Alumni Fish Fry, Easter, etc. Why not consider the gift of a CHS Commemorative Brick that will be placed at the outside entrance to the CHS Gym? These bricks are a wonderful opportunity to celebrate family milestones and honor or memorialize loved ones. Buy a brick engraved with the year you graduated, when your parent(s) or child(ren) graduated, in honor of your favorite teacher, in memory of fallen classmates, a special person in your life, etc.
Looking for the perfect holiday, birthday, or anniversary gift? A commemorative Catholic High brick might be just the thing to create a unique and lasting memory visible for you and your family to admire for a lifetime. The clay bricks are 8" X 8" and will accommodate engraving of up to 6 lines with a maximum of 21 characters per line. Use the link pensacolachs.org/bricks to access the web form to order and pay for your commemorative brick(s). Once we have an order for five or more bricks we will place the order with the brick company. All proceeds from the sales will go to the Building on Faith, Family & Tradition Capital Campaign.

Ordering CHS Transcripts
Catholic High School modified the manner by which CHS transcripts are requested and delivered. We are now utilizing Parchment, a secure online platform that streamlines transcript ordering and delivery.
This change is not just local—the Florida Catholic Conference (FCC) has mandated that all Catholic schools in the state of Florida adopt Parchment for transcript services.
With this change:
- All transcript requests will be submitted directly through Parchment.
-
Parchment charges a $5 fee per transcript for current CHS students, which is collected and retained entirely by Parchment (not Catholic High School). Alumni and all other requesting parties will be charged $10 per transcript.
- This new system allows for fast, reliable service and electronic delivery to colleges, universities, and other institutions.
To assist with the transition, Mrs. Kyte has already met with the current Seniors to help them set up their account on Parchment.
The link to Parchment with instructions for its use is now live. We encourage alumni and underclassmen to also create a Parchment account and use it for all transcript requests moving forward.
