Title 1 Letter & Survey
Each year at this time we are asked by the Escambia County Title Office to administer an anonymous survey to our parents. This survey will help to determine the monetary allotment that CHS will receive for the 26-27 school year for Title I services for our eligible students.
Attached below is a letter from Title I and a blank anonymous survey form that you are asked to please print, complete, and send back to CHS no later than Friday, 2/6. This coming Monday morning, 2/2, your child will receive an envelope to give you into which you are asked to place your completed confidential survey and return it to the CHS Front Office.
Thank you, in advance, for completing this survey and returning it. EVERY parent is asked to complete it, whether your child qualifies for Title I services or not and whether or not your chld will attend CHS next year--Senior parents are asked to complete it also.
The number of surveys returned and their content are the primary factors in determining our Title I monetary allocation for student services for 2026-27 so it is very important that we receive many completed surveys back by 2/6!
Thank you so much for helping with this very important step!

Help Us Build Our Field Sports Complex
We are excited to share our Virtual Groundbreaking Video for the New Athletic Field Complex, a project that represents an important investment in the future of our students and athletic programs. We extend our heartfelt gratitude to all who have already given so generously—your support has made it possible for us to clear and level the land and officially begin this transformative work. While these early milestones are worth celebrating, there is still much to be done. The next phases will include adding irrigation and lighting, followed by grass installation and final preparations to make the fields competition-ready. We are grateful for the momentum we have built and invite our community to continue partnering with us as we work toward fully funding and completing all phases of this exciting project.
These Athletic Fields (that will be located south of our existing Track) will provide three additional fields that will be used by our field sports teams: Football, Boys & Girls Lacrosse, and Boys & Girls Soccer. This includes a total of 10-15 teams that need to practice including the Varsity, JV, and Freshman teams. With the addition of these fields, the Track, Baseball, and Softball teams will benefit by being able to reclaim their fields when they are preparing for meets and games.
These new fields will also be used by our PE classes, the Catholic Youth Sports League (CYSL), and the students of the Mother Clelia Morning Star High School that adjoins our property. This first phase of the project will include the addition of three fields that will result from clearing the land, installing irrigation, grass, access roads, lighting and fencing around the complex.
The Second Phase will include fan seating and a scoreboard to outfit one of the fields as a competition field. Additional components to be added include a fieldhouse with a concession stand, restrooms, and paving of the parking areas and access roads.
The timing of the Second Phase has not yet been identified and will depend on the availability of additional funds raised through our Capital Campaign. For those of you who are new to Catholic High and have not yet explored our Capital Campaign website, please take some time to do so. There you will find an overview of the Campaign that includes a list of the projects we have been able to complete and for which your students are currently benefiting due to the generosity of donors who came before you. The site also shows the other projects yet to be completed that are in our Master Growth Plan.
We will share additional information with you as Phase I of the Field Sports Complex project proceeds. Our deepest thanks to all who have or will contribute to our campaign soon, helping to make these dreams for CHS possible!

Parking and Drop Off Policy for 2025-26
We are posting our Parking and Drop Off Policy for the 2025-26 school year. You can access it by clicking here. It is imperative that all parents, guardians, and students follow this policy at all times. We expect everyone to be safe at all times when operating a vehicle. All students and staff should be able to get to and from school, and to transport themselves throughout campus, safely each and every day.
Parking Permit Hang Tags, color-coded by grade, are issued to each student who plans to drive to school any day. Faculty, also, utilize parking permit hang tags. During the school day, student cars may be parked in a CHS lot/space only if they contain a parking permit clearly displayed. Students may park only in the area defined for their class. Parking permit tags will be kept throughout the student's enrollment at CHS and will be collected prior to graduation/withdrawal.
The form on which to register a car for parking is the last page of the Parent/Student Handbook, which students received on 8/8/2025. The form should be completed, signed by the parent, and turned in to the student's Homeroom Teacher. Students who received a parking tag in 2024-25 will continue to use the same tag or purchase a new one From Coach Faucheaux. If the student is turning 16 later in the school year or will begin driving later in the school year, the form can be turned in once they start driving to school.
Patience is a requirement when dropping your student off in the morning or picking them up in the afternoon. There are several things that you can do to help the process run smoothly. Please read these instructions and adhere to them throughout the school year. Your assistance and cooperation is very much appreciated.
Parents, a few urgent reminders about afternoon student pick-up at CHS. It is IMPERATIVE that people coming to pick-up students PULL INTO A PARKING SPACE! Cars may NOT form lines within the lanes OR park along the curbs!!! There are open parking spaces in the Football Parking Lot, the West Lot by the Softball Field, and in the Back Lot that is behind the main building. ALL of these lots are available to parents to use when waiting for a student. It is NOT necessary, safe, or allowed to park along the curb or in the lanes. Please give this information to anyone who may be picking up your child at the end of the school day and PLEASE comply!

Great Gift with a Dual Purpose
The next few months have several occasions for gift-giving such as a birthday, anniversary, Valentine's Day, Alumni Fish Fry, Easter, etc. Why not consider the gift of a CHS Commemorative Brick that will be placed at the outside entrance to the CHS Gym? These bricks are a wonderful opportunity to celebrate family milestones and honor or memorialize loved ones. Buy a brick engraved with the year you graduated, when your parent(s) or child(ren) graduated, in honor of your favorite teacher, in memory of fallen classmates, a special person in your life, etc.
Looking for the perfect holiday, birthday, or anniversary gift? A commemorative Catholic High brick might be just the thing to create a unique and lasting memory visible for you and your family to admire for a lifetime. The clay bricks are 8" X 8" and will accommodate engraving of up to 6 lines with a maximum of 21 characters per line. Use the link pensacolachs.org/bricks to access the web form to order and pay for your commemorative brick(s). Once we have an order for five or more bricks we will place the order with the brick company. All proceeds from the sales will go to the Building on Faith, Family & Tradition Capital Campaign.

Semester Exam Policy
CHS implemented a policy that pertains to students who miss semester exams in either December or in May. This policy states: Students who miss semester exams for serious family emergencies or serious health reasons are excused and may make them up. Students absenting themselves from exams for any other reason(s) may NOT make up exams and will receive a zero for each.
Please be aware of these dates when planning family trips, etc. It is also contained in the CHS Parent/Student Handbook that all parents and students are required to read. So this is simply a reminder for you so that family plans will not conflict with our semester exams. As always, we ask you NOT to remove your child from school until his/her last exam is completed. Thank you so much!!
Students may earn exemption from a semester exam in a course if they have 3 or less absences in that course for the semester (remembering that 3 tardies to a class count as 1 absence), if the student’s academic average in the course is a C or better and their overall average in all courses is a 2.5 or better at the end of the first quarter in that semester (Q1 or Q3). Any student who does not have BOTH of these criteria is required to take exams. Every student in 9th-12th grade will take one mandatory exam per semester. The mandatory exam for the Spring Semester will be announced later in the semester. This mandatory exam will be scheduled on the first exam day. No student should be absent from school until after this mandatory exam!

Lunch Protocol/Menus
Our food service vendor, Panhandle Food Management (PFM), began providing lunch for students to purchase on Monday, 8/11. Currently, PFM is able to offer cash and ID badge payments as the means to pay for a purchased lunch. Credit/debit cards will no longer be accepted. The weekly lunch menu will be provided each week on our website and on the TV's in the school hallways.
Lunch may also be brought from home. Microwaves are available for student use.
Lunch may not be dropped off for students. Students have the option to bring their lunch from home or purchase it in our Student Life Center. Parents who wish to buy their student's lunch using the student's ID badge may post funds on their child's account online here.
If a parent provides snacks for a club meeting or event, they must be store-purchased and individually store-wrapped. No homemade snacks may be brought in for any event. Thank you for helping us to maintain these important protocols.

Parents and Students' Responsibilities for Early Dismissals
Students must bring a note from the parent to the Front Office in the morning before 7:45 a.m. if he/she will need to be dismissed early that day for any reason. The school is unable to dismiss students early if they did not bring in this note from the parent prior to school on the day of the needed dismissal. This is true whether the student will return to school that day or not. Several important policies regarding early dismissal:
--Please do not call, email or text the Front Office during the school day to request that your child be dismissed early.
--Also, please remember our policy that students may not be dismissed within 30 minutes of the regular dismissal time at the end of any day.
--If a student checks out for any reason before a Mass or school assembly, they may not return to school for any remaining part of the school day or be involved in after school/evening events that day.
Parents' Responsibility Regarding Student Absence from School
All parents and students must adhere to the following:
-
If your child is going to be absent for a short period of time (1-3 days), please call the Front Office (850-436-6400) by 8 a.m. and leave a message on the attendance mailbox (#2 on our phone system menu), letting us know your child will be out that day. You must also send an absence excuse note in with your child when they next return to school.
-
If your child is going to be absent for a prolonged period of time (more than 3 days) for whatever reason (death in the family requiring travel, a family trip, a serious illness or injury, surgery, etc.), please call the front office (850-436-6400) and report the full details regarding your child's absence (expected length of time, nature of the absence, etc.). You must also send an absence excuse note in with your child when they next return to school. Thank you!

Ordering CHS Transcripts
Beginning Wednesday, September 17, Catholic High School modified the manner by which CHS transcripts are requested and delivered. We are now utilizing Parchment, a secure online platform that streamlines transcript ordering and delivery.
This change is not just local—the Florida Catholic Conference (FCC) has mandated that all Catholic schools in the state of Florida adopt Parchment for transcript services.
With this change:
- All transcript requests will be submitted directly through Parchment.
-
Parchment charges a $5 fee per transcript for current CHS students, which is collected and retained entirely by Parchment (not Catholic High School). Alumni and all other requesting parties will be charged $10 per transcript.
- This new system allows for fast, reliable service and electronic delivery to colleges, universities, and other institutions.
To assist with the transition, Mrs. Kyte has already met with the current Seniors to help them set up their account on Parchment.
The link to Parchment with instructions for its use is now live. We encourage alumni and underclassmen to also create a Parchment account and use it for all transcript requests moving forward.
