Strengthening Our Faith
Week of May 4, 2026
(Fifth Week of Easter)
As we enter the Fifth Week of Easter, we are reminded that this sacred season is not only a celebration of Christ’s Resurrection, but also a call to live as people transformed by that truth. The joy of Easter continues, inviting us to reflect on what it means to be witnesses of hope in our daily lives. In the Gospel readings this week, Jesus speaks to His disciples about remaining in His love and keeping His commandments—reminding us that our relationship with Him is active, rooted in both faith and action.
For our students, this is a meaningful opportunity to consider how they can live out their faith in tangible ways. Whether through acts of kindness, integrity in their work, or service to others, they are called to reflect Christ in all they do. As a school community, we continue to emphasize that faith is not confined to the classroom or chapel—it is something that should shape how we treat one another, how we face challenges, and how we grow as individuals.
We encourage our families to take time this week to pray together and reflect on the ways God is present in your lives. The Easter season is a powerful reminder that even in moments of difficulty, God is at work bringing new life and renewal. May we continue to walk in the light of the Resurrection, strengthened in faith, united in love, and committed to living out the Gospel each day.

Adoration
As we approach the end of the school year, we invite our entire school community to take part in our final Adoration of the Blessed Sacrament on Monday, May 4, from 7:45 a.m. to 1:45 p.m. This sacred time offers a beautiful opportunity to pause, reflect, and spend quiet moments in the presence of Christ. In the midst of a busy season filled with exams, events, and end-of-year activities, Adoration allows us to refocus our hearts on what matters most.
Throughout the day, students will have the chance to visit the chapel with their classes, bringing their prayers, gratitude, and intentions before the Lord. Whether offering thanks for the blessings of the year, seeking guidance for what lies ahead, or simply resting in God’s presence, Adoration is a powerful way to grow in faith and deepen our relationship with Christ.
We encourage families to speak with their students about the importance of this time and to consider how moments of quiet prayer can be incorporated into daily life. As we close out the year, may this final Adoration be a time of renewal, peace, and spiritual strength for our entire Crusader community.

Summer Reading Program
The purpose of the CHS Summer Reading Program is to encourage and support independent reading and instill a love of reading in our students. The ability to read well and on a regular basis is crucial to college and career success. Recognizing this, the CHS English Department has a year-round reading program which includes required outside reading during the summer months.
The Summer Reading Program includes three books for Honors/AP students and two books for ACP/CP/G levels. Details of the program can be found by clicking here.
Students will be tested on the assigned reading during the first week of the 2026-27 school year.

Summer New Crusaders Workshops
Our New Crusaders Workshop will help assist registered incoming students in learning about CHS and strategies to help them be successful with their transition into high school. The workshops are interactive and allow the students to get to know one another. Our goal is to help students feel more comfortable and confident, so their first few weeks of school can feel less anxious. We want to help them become leaders among their peers so that they can help other new Crusaders as well. This is a free one-day workshop.
Session Dates
All 2026 sessions are from 8 a.m.-12 p.m. Choose one to attend.
Topics Covered
We will cover topics relating to the school schedule, CHS expectations, and differences between middle and high school.
Registration
Registration is open for all 2026 dates. If you know of an incoming student who would like to attend, please send them this link so that they can register.

Graduation Week
Graduation Week is an exciting and meaningful time for our seniors as they prepare to close one chapter and begin another. Each event throughout the week is designed to celebrate their accomplishments, ensure they are fully prepared, and honor their journey as Crusaders. All practices are MANDATORY. Missing any practice (or the Baccalaureate Mass) removes the student's ability to participate in the Baccalaureate Mass and Graduation Ceremony.
Thursday, May 7 – Laptops Collected
Seniors will turn in their school-issued laptops as part of the final steps in closing out their academic responsibilities. Students should ensure all files are backed up and devices are in good condition prior to submission.
Friday, May 8 – Last Day of Classes
This marks the final day seniors will attend classes. It is a time to reflect on friendships, memories, and the hard work that has led to this moment. We encourage students to finish strong and celebrate responsibly.
Monday, May 11--Baccalaureate Mass Practice/Breakfast at CHS
Seniors will practice for the 5/15 Baccalaureate Mass in the CHS Gym, beginning at 7:45 a.m. Following practice, The Seniors will enjoy their Senior Breakfast and, for students who ordered one, receive their 2025-26 Charisma Yearbook!
Tuesday, May 12 – Baccalaureate Practice at St. Paul's Church
Graduates will gather to rehearse for the Baccalaureate Mass. This practice ensures that students understand the flow of the ceremony and can participate with reverence and confidence.
- 9:30 a.m. St. Paul Catholic Church
Wednesday, May 13 –Graduation Practice at CHS; Laptops Returned; Cap & Gown Distribution
The day begins at 7:45 a.m. with praactice for the Graduation Ceremony in the CHS Gym at 7:45 a.m. After practice, students will receive their caps and gowns, an exciting milestone as graduation draws near. Any senior who is participating in the laptop buy-back program will receive their laptops, reformatted, on this date. They will also receive the contents of their "CHS Working File" which includes their health information. It is to be brought home to the parents.
- 9:30 a.m. Catholic High School
Thursday, May 14 – Graduation Practice at Olive Baptist Church and Senior Academic Awards Ceremony
The final practice for Graduation will take place at Olive Baptist Church beginning at 9:00 a.m. In the evening of 5/14, we will honor the outstanding academic achievements of our seniors. This Awards Ceremony recognizes students who have demonstrated excellence, dedication, and commitment throughout their high school careers.
- Graduation Practice, 9:00 a.m. at Olive Baptist Church
- Senior Awards Ceremony, 6:30 p.m. Catholic High School Gym
Friday, May 15 – Baccalaureate Mass
The Baccalaureate Mass is a beautiful tradition during which we come together in prayer and thanksgiving. It is an opportunity for graduates, their families, and the CHS administration and faculty to reflect on God’s presence throughout their journey and to seek His blessing for the future.
- 6:30 p.m. St. Paul Catholic Church
Saturday, May 16 – Graduation
Graduation Day is the culmination of our seniors’ high school experience. As they walk across the stage, we celebrate their accomplishments and send them forth as proud Crusaders, ready to make a difference in the world.
- 3:00 p.m. Olive Baptist Church
We look forward to celebrating this special week with our seniors and their families as we honor the Class of 2026.

Summer Opportunities & Scholarships
Our Guidance Office has been working diligently to make you and our students aware of the many postsecondary scholarship offers available to our students. Full information on them is available through our Guidance Office webpage. The landing page is instructional and there are several tabs at the bottom of the spreadsheet to match whatever interests your students may have. They include: Local, Military, Specific Major, Specific School, Specific Qualification, and All Other. We encourage everyone to pursue these scholarship opportunities.
Also, through a different section of the Guidance webpage, the Guidance Office has added a section for Summer Opportunities and Work Experience. There are many amazing opportunities listed that are available to our students! To name a few: Arete: An Introduction to the Classics in Dallas; BCYC Immersion at Benedictine College; CatholicTech: Intro to Computer Science or Intro to Space Sciences and Engineering, both in Italy; Communication and Media Preview (CAMP) and/or Introduction to Engineering at the University of Alabama; Engineering New Frontiers and/or Experiences in Architecture at Catholic University in Washington, DC; Science, Theology, and the Pursuit of Wisdom in Austria! The list goes on and on.
The Summer Opportunities offer a wide range of domestic and international experiences, with varying costs associated with each one. Several of them offer financial assistance so that anyone wanting to attend can do so. There is a tab within the spreadsheet for those offers. There are also some online opportunities for those who are unable or do not wish to travel.
Should you have any questions about any of these opportunities, you can contact our Guidance Office and the appropriate person will be happy to assist you.

Athletic Eligibility Requirements
The athletic eligibility requirements for 2025-26 and 2026-27 can be accessed from our school website.
Physicals are good for 1 year or 365 days from the date the physical is conducted. Athletes will not be able to compete in any event, contest, or tryout unless they have a physical on file with our CHS Compliance Office that is current and covers the competition period. All physicals for 2025-26 must be completed on the new EL2 form. Please fill out all sections of the EL2 form that apply to you prior to going in for the physical.
Athletes also need to update or create their online clearance each year. They will not be permitted to participate in an athletic contest without a current Athletic Clearance. Instructions for this process can be located on our website.
NEW: ECG Screening Requirement Beginning July 1, 2026
Beginning on July 1, 2026 all incoming 9th-grade student-athletes (2026-27) and any student in grades 10-12 who plans to participate in a sport and who has never participated in a FHSAA-sanctioned sport must obtain an ECG. (Returning athletes are not required but strongly encouraged to obtain an ECG. The goal is to identify undetected cardiac risk factors and enhance athlete safety.) Documentation: A one-page standardized form (EL1) will confirm ECG completion, including: Parent/Guardian attestation, Clinician verification, and Referral information , if needed. Any follow-up that is requested by the medical professional will require the completion of the Form EL1/2s.
An ECG performed on or after July 1, 2024 will satisfy the requirement.
Parents can visit WhoWePlayFor.org for local screening opportunities, contact Athletic Director Matt Adams, or consult with their family health care provider.
Name, Image & Likeness (NIL) Deals
The FHSAA has created a resource page for any student-athlete wanting to learn about the recently approved NIL bylaws. It is imperative that any athlete that enters into a NIL deal/contract adhere to these bylaws to the letter. They are also required to submit a completed Form GA1 Affidavit of Amateurism to the Athletic Compliance Department within five (5) business days of signing a Name, Image, and Likeness (NIL) agreement.

Help Us Build Our Field Sports Complex
We’re excited to share new momentum on the New Athletic Field Complex and invite you to check out our Virtual Groundbreaking Video. What started as a vision is quickly becoming a reality, thanks to the incredible generosity of our Crusader community.
In recent weeks, we’ve made major progress. Light poles and fixtures have now been installed on all three fields, irrigation has been completed, the sprinkler system is now up and running, and grass has been laid on all three fields! We are moving quickly into the next phase, with roads and parking lots being installed this week, along with the laying of the remaining sod. Bleacher seating will also be added soon, giving the space an even more complete, game-day feel. Each of these milestones brings us closer to opening a facility that will have a lasting impact on our students and programs.
The new complex, located just south of our existing track, will feature three additional fields to support Football, Boys & Girls Lacrosse, and Boys & Girls Soccer. With 10–15 teams across Varsity, JV, and Freshman levels, these fields will provide much-needed space for practices and development. As a result, our Track, Baseball, and Softball programs will also benefit from more consistent access to their own facilities.
This space will serve more than just our athletic teams. It will also be used by our Physical Education classes, the Catholic Youth Sports League (CYSL), and our neighbors at Mother Clelia Morning Star High School, further strengthening the connection across our campus community.
Phase I includes the full development of the three fields, along with lighting, irrigation, sod, access roads, fencing, a scoreboard, and bleacher seating on the primary field. Looking ahead, Phase II will continue to enhance the complex as a true competition venue, with plans for a fieldhouse with concessions and restrooms, and expanded parking.
The timeline for Phase II will depend on continued support through our Capital Campaign. If you haven’t yet explored the campaign website, we encourage you to take a look. It highlights not only this project, but also the many improvements made possible by those who have invested in Catholic High before us.
We are incredibly grateful for the progress we’ve made and for the community that continues to make it possible. We look forward to sharing more updates soon as this exciting project continues to take shape.

Parking and Drop Off Policy for 2025-26
We are posting our Parking and Drop Off Policy for the 2025-26 school year. You can access it by clicking here. It is imperative that all parents, guardians, and students follow this policy at all times. We expect everyone to be safe at all times when operating a vehicle. All students and staff should be able to get to and from school, and to transport themselves throughout campus, safely each and every day.
Parking Permit Hang Tags, color-coded by grade, are issued to each student who plans to drive to school any day. Faculty, also, utilize parking permit hang tags. During the school day, student cars may be parked in a CHS lot/space only if they contain a parking permit clearly displayed. Students may park only in the area defined for their class. Parking permit tags will be kept throughout the student's enrollment at CHS and will be collected prior to graduation/withdrawal.
The form on which to register a car for parking is the last page of the Parent/Student Handbook, which students received on 8/8/2025. The form should be completed, signed by the parent, and turned in to the student's Homeroom Teacher. Students who received a parking tag in 2024-25 will continue to use the same tag or purchase a new one From Coach Faucheaux. If the student is turning 16 later in the school year or will begin driving later in the school year, the form can be turned in once they start driving to school.
Patience is a requirement when dropping your student off in the morning or picking them up in the afternoon. There are several things that you can do to help the process run smoothly. Please read these instructions and adhere to them throughout the school year. Your assistance and cooperation is very much appreciated.
Parents, a few urgent reminders about afternoon student pick-up at CHS. It is IMPERATIVE that people coming to pick-up students PULL INTO A PARKING SPACE! Cars may NOT form lines within the lanes OR park along the curbs!!! There are open parking spaces in the Football Parking Lot, the West Lot by the Softball Field, and in the Back Lot that is behind the main building. ALL of these lots are available to parents to use when waiting for a student. It is NOT necessary, safe, or allowed to park along the curb or in the lanes. Please give this information to anyone who may be picking up your child at the end of the school day and PLEASE comply!

Great Gift with a Dual Purpose
The next few months have several occasions for gift-giving such as a birthday, anniversary, Valentine's Day, Alumni Fish Fry, Easter, etc. Why not consider the gift of a CHS Commemorative Brick that will be placed at the outside entrance to the CHS Gym? These bricks are a wonderful opportunity to celebrate family milestones and honor or memorialize loved ones. Buy a brick engraved with the year you graduated, when your parent(s) or child(ren) graduated, in honor of your favorite teacher, in memory of fallen classmates, a special person in your life, etc.
Looking for the perfect holiday, birthday, or anniversary gift? A commemorative Catholic High brick might be just the thing to create a unique and lasting memory visible for you and your family to admire for a lifetime. The clay bricks are 8" X 8" and will accommodate engraving of up to 6 lines with a maximum of 21 characters per line. Use the link pensacolachs.org/bricks to access the web form to order and pay for your commemorative brick(s). Semester Exam Policy
CHS implemented a policy that pertains to students who miss semester exams in either December or in May. This policy states: Students who miss semester exams for serious family emergencies or serious health reasons are excused and may make them up. Students absenting themselves from exams for any other reason(s) may NOT make up exams and will receive a zero for each.
Please be aware of these dates when planning family trips, etc. It is also contained in the CHS Parent/Student Handbook that all parents and students are required to read. So this is simply a reminder for you so that family plans will not conflict with our semester exams. As always, we ask you NOT to remove your child from school until his/her last exam is completed. Thank you so much!!
Students may earn exemption from a semester exam in a course if they have 3 or less absences in that course for the semester (remembering that 3 tardies to a class count as 1 absence), if the student’s academic average in the course is a C or better and their overall average in all courses is a 2.5 or better at the end of the first quarter in that semester (Q1 or Q3). Any student who does not have BOTH of these criteria is required to take exams. Every student in 9th-12th grade will take one mandatory exam per semester. The mandatory exam for the Spring Semester will be English. This mandatory exam will be scheduled on the first exam day. No student should be absent from school until after this mandatory exam!

Lunch Protocol/Menus
The last day that lunch will be served this year is Wednesday, May 20. Our food service vendor, Panhandle Food Management (PFM), began providing lunch for students to purchase on Monday, 8/11. Currently, PFM is able to offer cash and ID badge payments as the means to pay for a purchased lunch. Credit/debit cards will no longer be accepted.
Lunch may also be brought from home. Microwaves are available for student use.
Lunch may not be dropped off for students. Students have the option to bring their lunch from home or purchase it in our Student Life Center. Parents who wish to buy their student's lunch using the student's ID badge may post funds on their child's account online here.
If a parent provides snacks for a club meeting or event, they must be store-purchased and individually store-wrapped. No homemade snacks may be brought in for any event. Thank you for helping us to maintain these important protocols.

Parents and Students' Responsibilities for Early Dismissals
Students must bring a note from the parent to the Front Office in the morning before 7:45 a.m. if he/she will need to be dismissed early that day for any reason. The school is unable to dismiss students early if they did not bring in this note from the parent prior to school on the day of the needed dismissal. This is true whether the student will return to school that day or not. Several important policies regarding early dismissal:
--Please do not call, email or text the Front Office during the school day to request that your child be dismissed early.
--Also, please remember our policy that students may not be dismissed within 30 minutes of the regular dismissal time at the end of any day.
--If a student checks out for any reason before a Mass or school assembly, they may not return to school for any remaining part of the school day or be involved in after school/evening events that day.
Parents' Responsibility Regarding Student Absence from School
All parents and students must adhere to the following:
-
If your child is going to be absent for a short period of time (1-3 days), please call the Front Office (850-436-6400) by 8 a.m. and leave a message on the attendance mailbox (#2 on our phone system menu), letting us know your child will be out that day. You must also send an absence excuse note in with your child when they next return to school.
-
If your child is going to be absent for a prolonged period of time (more than 3 days) for whatever reason (death in the family requiring travel, a family trip, a serious illness or injury, surgery, etc.), please call the front office (850-436-6400) and report the full details regarding your child's absence (expected length of time, nature of the absence, etc.). You must also send an absence excuse note in with your child when they next return to school. Thank you!

Ordering CHS Transcripts
Catholic High School modified the manner by which CHS transcripts are requested and delivered. We are now utilizing Parchment, a secure online platform that streamlines transcript ordering and delivery.
This change is not just local—the Florida Catholic Conference (FCC) has mandated that all Catholic schools in the state of Florida adopt Parchment for transcript services.
With this change:
- All transcript requests will be submitted directly through Parchment.
-
Parchment charges a $5 fee per transcript for current CHS students, which is collected and retained entirely by Parchment (not Catholic High School). Alumni and all other requesting parties will be charged $10 per transcript.
