Summer Camp - Parent Night!
We need cookies for Summer Camp Parent Night this Thursday!  If you are willing to bring cookies please e-mail to let us know! If you can't bake feel free to buy cookies that look homemade! :-)
We also need greeters and servers to help welcome the parents to our church. This is a great way to bless the families of CROS Summer Camp. God has brought many local families into our facility let's use this opportunity to welcome them!
Paint Project
The painting project is in full swing!
The power washing is almost finished.  You can still help with taping and painting on Thursday and Friday if you have time to help.
Have you ever been so angry it kept you from focusing your thoughts?  The bitterness crept so deep you couldn't sleep and you lost your appetite?
This weekend we approach Commandment #6 - "You shall not murder."  Jesus in the Sermon on the Mount helps us make the connection between killing someone and harboring anger towards them.

Sin is not limited to outward action.  Sin begins in the heart.  Even if the hateful attitude of our heart never produces the action of killing someone, the attitude is still sin.  Jesus makes it clear that our thoughts must be consistent with our actions.  We cannot act like nice people and be hateful on the inside.  To live like that is to be a "white washed tomb".  We can decorate the outside to look good but we have only death on the inside.

So, how deep does sin penetrate in our hearts and minds?  How do we learn to get rid of anger and hatred? The prophet Jeremiah said that the only solution was a heart transplant.  We need to replace our heart of stone with a heart of flesh.  We need to remove the walls that our past has erected.  So, prepare for surgery this weekend!  The Holy Spirit will be removing hearts of stone and replacing them with healthy, grace-filled hearts!  See you Sunday.
