October 2020
Wild Plum Center hosted a Conscious Discipline training last week facilitated by our Mental Health Consultant Bridget Tedeschi. In this training families learned skills to create a safe, connected, problem solving family in a compassionate learning environment. The 60 minute session focused on 1) The Brain States 2) The Power of Perception 3) Composure 4) Creating Safe Space.

This was an incredible opportunity for our families to work alongside a Mental Health Specialist to expand our families communication practices.
Dia de Los Muertos- Participate Remotely!
We had a blast with everyone last year at Longmont's 2019 Dia de los Muertos Family Fiesta. While we are all celebrating remotely this year, we are supporting the Firehouse Art Center and Longmont Museum. We put together 500 butterfly kits for 2020's Fiesta! In collaboration with other nonprofits and businesses these kits will provide necessary solace, entertainment and education.
Kits are filled with over a dozen fun things to paint, make and create!

Service Spotlight
Anyone who reads our newsletters knows what a huge resource Xilinx has been to Wild Plum Center. However, we too were shocked when a Xilinx Employee brought his tractor to ensure our Build Day was a success! We were able to work together to construct a path for Ms. Gloria and Ms. Barbara's classroom which allows families to drop off their students safely and without contact. We are fortunate to have such a strong community partnership with Xilinx.

Colorado Gives Day is December 8th!
"The Child Care Contribution Tax Credit makes it even more gratifying to donate to Wild Plum Center. I know that I can donate more than I usually would because half of it will come back when I file taxes. The extra paperwork when filing taxes is quite simple. Wild Plum Center receives the full value of my donation, meaning that my out-of-pocket donation is always doubled!" DH
