Message from Archdiocese of Omaha:

Your school's advocacy is urgently needed now on school choice scholarship funding! Take action HERE.

What is being proposed?

  • Governor Jim Pillen placed $7 million for school choice scholarships in his proposed budget to the Nebraska Legislature.
  • These scholarships are intended to provide "gap assistance" funding for the 2026-27 school year for students who received school choice scholarships the last couple years. Check out this impact report to learn more about the students these scholarships helped.
  • Next Wednesday (Feb. 18), the Appropriations Committee of the Nebraska Legislature will have a public hearing on these scholarships, as part of their process for determining whether to adopt school choice scholarships into the Legislature's budget proposal.

What do we need from you?

  • We need teachers, parents, donors, administrators, and other community members to submit letters of support for these scholarship funds. Please see attached template letter you can send to your school community. Please consider this a top-tier advocacy request, and preferably send this as a stand-alone e-mail to your school community.
  • You can be certain that opponents will be submitting hundreds of letters of opposition against this proposal, and that will influence Senators.
  • Your voice matters and is critical to the Senators' decision-making process to adopt or reject this scholarship funding proposal.
  • Our goal is at least 1,000 letters of support, which should be very attainable considering how many Catholic school advocates we have across the state.

Please submit a letter of support by filing out this form, by Wednesday (Feb. 18) morning by 9 AM. Again, your advocacy is critical!

If you have questions/concerns/feedback, please do not hesitate to contact Tom Venzor at the Nebraska Catholic Conference

(c: 402.615.1199; e-mail: tvenzor@necatholic.org).

Thank you for your quick response to this urgent request.

March 2 - Spring Sports Season Begins

Dear Parents and Guardians,

For more than four decades, the Cougar Family has gathered each spring to celebrate community and support the students of Gross Catholic through our annual Celebration fundraising gala. A key part of this tradition is the Gold Cup Raffle, which continues to play an important role in supporting school operations and bridging the gap between tuition and the true cost of education.

Each family is asked to sell or purchase $100 in Gold Cup raffle tickets. Families who do not meet this amount will see the balance added to the May 2025–26 tuition statement, per their tuition agreement. Tickets must be purchased online, with student name(s) included to receive credit.

New this year, ticket prices have been lowered to encourage greater student participation, and students will have the opportunity to earn incentives. In addition, all tickets purchased by March 24 at 11:59 PM will be entered into an Early Bird drawing on March 25.

The Grand Prize and additional winners will be drawn at Celebration 42: Boots and Blessings Gala on April 24 at the Beardmore Event Center in Bellevue. Winners need not be present, and raffle tickets are not admission to the event.

Thank you for your continued support of Gross Catholic and our students. Prize details are listed below.

Sponsorship Opportunities & Referrals

As we prepare for the 42nd Annual Boots & Blessings Gala on April 24, 2026, at the Beardmore Event Center, we are seeking community support to help secure event sponsors for Gross Catholic High School.

Our Gala is the school’s largest fundraiser, bringing together alumni, families, community leaders, and business partners in support of academic excellence, faith, and service. The evening will feature special guests Arthur Fratelli and Hannah McNeil, along with our Distinguished Alumni and Cougar Spirit Awards.

Sponsorships directly impact our students—80% receive financial assistance totaling more than $1.6 million, and 65% earn college credit before graduation. Sponsors also receive meaningful visibility while demonstrating a strong commitment to investing in local students and the future workforce.

If you own a business or have connections to companies that value education and community impact, we would be grateful for a referral or introduction. Your recommendation can make a lasting difference in the lives of our students.

For more information or to share a referral, please contact advancement@gcgmail.org.

Thank you for supporting Gross Catholic.
