9th/10th Testing Day and 11th/12th College and Career Day

Mark your Calendar!

October 17 is a Special Day - Freshmen and Sophomores will be taking the Pre-ACT. Juniors and Seniors will participate in a College and Career Day. The college and career day will include a presentation from EducationQuest for juniors, and a panel discussion with recent Gross graduates for seniors, a college fair, and an opportunity to hear from multiple different professionals in our community. All students need to attend and will be dismissed at 12:00 on this day.

Junior/Senior parent permission needed NOW! - Gross is partnering with Strivescan for the college fair on October 17th. Strivescan removes the need for students to fill out information cards by hand when visiting with a college rep. Students register for Strivescan via their personal phone and a barcode will be texted and emailed to them immediately. Colleges use the StriveScan app to scan the barcode from a student's phone to access the information students would normally write on an information card. Students can choose which college reps scan their barcode. Please complete this FORM indicating whether or not you give permission for your student to use StriveScan for the college fair.

Homecoming Information

Homecoming Dress code:

The purpose of the dress code is to ensure the dignity of each person and to prepare our students to dress appropriately in various situations. Based on these convictions the following guidelines have been established for our homecoming dance.

Ladies - Dresses are Sunday dress or cocktail dress is worn for the homecoming dance. Long gowns are generally reserved for prom. In keeping with modest, contemporary standards, appropriate dress length, covered midriff and appropriate neckline as determined by Gross Catholic administration will be enforced. When in doubt, feel free to reach out to the administration for guidance.

Gentlemen - Dress slacks and a collared shirt or sweater are expected. No jeans, shorts or t-shirts are allowed at this semi-formal event. Ties are optional.  When in doubt, feel free to reach out to the administration for guidance.

Tickets/Attendance/Timeline:

The purpose of the homecoming dance is to build community.. Students are not required to have a date for the homecoming dance, in fact, most students come with a group of friends. In addition, corsages and boutonnieres are not required.

Tickets will be on sale for $20 from Sept. 30th - Oct. 10th. Students can purchase these tickets during lunch or in Mrs. Mac's office. Payment can be in cash, by check (make check to GCHS), or by venmo. All students should make sure their name is on the ticket list. This list is used to admit students to the dance.

If a student from Gross wants to bring a student from another school, the Gross student needs to complete a guest form. This is an electronic form that was sent to all students on September 20th. A ticket must also be purchased for the guest.
