If you are new to Gross Catholic this year, please check the email you provided the office for an invite to set this up. If you don’t use the email listed on FACTS, please contact the school to update your information. Returning parents, please also check that your emails are updated if you would like to receive Summary emails.

The National Honor Society at Gross will be restarting peer tutoring next week on September 4th. We will have senior NHS members available most periods of the day to help any students who need help in a variety of classes. Peer tutoring is located in the media center.

On Wednesday, September 10th select students will receive invitations to the National Honor Society Google classroom to begin applications. To be invited to apply, students must:

-be a junior and senior enrolled for at least one semester at Gross

-be in good standing with their Marianist Mission Hours

-have a minimum 3.9 cumulative GPA (not rounded up) - this is a change from previous years. With the change in our grading scale, an adjustment was made for eligibility for NHS. This aligns with the change in the High Honor roll status as well. This change begins this year with the juniors, class of 2027. Eligible seniors, class of 2026, will be grandfathered into the former minimum 3.5 GPA.

Applications are turned in on Google classroom and due on Sept 16th. Once the application deadline ends, the NHS faculty council will review them and determine membership, with an induction ceremony on November 12th. If you have any questions, please email Mrs. Novotny at emnovotny@gcgmail.org

The National Honor Society chapter at Gross is a membership into a group of high achieving students of good character, service and leadership. NHS activities include being a peer tutor for other students at school, completing a service project during the year, and overall being leaders for your fellow students. There are National Honor Society chapters in schools all over the country.

Vehicle registration is required for any vehicle parked in the school parking lot during the school day. Vehicles must be registered before Sept 12, 2025 or be subject to a $30 fine.  Form and payment is located in the School Business Office. Cost is $30 per vehicle per school year.(cash, check, venmo or credit card payments are accepted). Be prepared to provide the make, model and license plate number of the vehicle.

Vehicle registration is not reserved parking. Only the Senior class received an opportunity this school year to pay for a reserved parking space which they were allowed to personalize. Please do not use those spaces!

If any changes occur with vehicle registration, you can email ginn@gcgmail.org with updates to vehicle information. If a temporary vehicle is being used, place the tag in the temporary vehicle and email ginn@gcgmail.org to keep the school informed. Vehicle registration is available at any time a new vehicle is on property, so if your student does not drive a vehicle until later in the year, your student can come to the Business office at that time to complete the form and make payment. After January, the cost per vehicle is $15 for half of the school year.
