First Week of School Plans
One of the careful preparations we have made for this fall is transitioning students back to school and into hybrid (a combination of in-person and virtual learning experiences) learning. Our schools and buses have numerous safety procedures in place including temperature checks, cleaning routines and social distance plans.

This will be a new experience for students and in accordance with our mission to inspire each student, the first week of school needs to be done right. The comfort and confidence with school that students develop at the start of the year will carry across the coming months.

The first week of school will be focused on ramping up: establishing appropriate routines inside of school and in virtual learning; using technology tools together as a class and troubleshooting any early issues; setting clear expectations for learning in synchronous and asynchronous environments; and teaching Eden Prairie Schools’ high expectations for behavior in person and online.

Each of our schools will be communicating to families the plan for the first week and know that it is all designed to ensure success all year long.
Keeping Students Safe at School
All K-1 students and 2-12 students enrolled in our hybrid model will have a no-contact temperature check as they enter the school building. The process is quick and easy. Any student with a temperature of more than 100.4 will be isolated, evaluated by health services staff, and sent home. For more details on our procedures, click here.

All students will be required to wear a face covering while at school. The district will provide a reusable face covering to all students, and single-use face masks also will be available. Students may bring their own face covering from home.
