Parent Post: Start Times Task Force and Survey Results; School Board Appreciation Week

EPHS girls hockey player Sydney Langseth is a semifinalist for Ms. Hockey Minnesota.

Eden Prairie High School students Maria Birman, Robbie Breese, Celeste Frakes, David Edwards, Ben Jorgensen, Anna Shengena, Devyn Stanton, Erica Toepke, and Jade Umanzor were selected to perform in select ensembles at the Minnesota Music Educator’s (MMEA) convention in downtown Minneapolis Feb. 13-15. The Eden Prairie High School Dance Team received the Minnesota Association of Dance Teams (MADT) academic award for having an average GPA of 3.3 above. Individually, seniors Lanie Cline, Paige Ericksen, Sophia Kotonias and Victoria Kremer were honored with MADT senior academic awards (GPAs of 3.85 or above) at the state meet.

Keerthana Ramanathan and Anisha Singhatwadia competed in the Harvard National Speech and Debate Tournament. Keerthana finished in the top 60 in Informative Speaking and Anisha was a quarter finalist in Original Oratory.

The Eden Prairie High School Boys Hockey clinched the Lake Conference title with a win over Wayzata.

The Sun Sailor showcased EPHS alum Kyle Voltin who has created a clothing line for people with Down syndrome.

School Start Times Survey Feedback

Thanks to many of you who took the school start times survey and gave us your opinion. We received 2,148 responses, 48.7 percent from preschool or elementary parents and 51.3 percent from secondary parents. More than 86 percent of respondents were aware to some degree of research on the impact of start times on high school students. Start Times Task Force - Application Deadline Friday, Feb. 21

Are you interested in joining the Start Times Task Force? Please submit your application by Friday, Feb. 21. This 20 - 25 member task force will begin meeting in March to review public input, meet with district staff and will make a general recommendation to the superintendent on whether Eden Prairie Schools should change its current practice.
