I hope the next two weeks are enjoyable for you and your students. Inspiring each of our students is exciting work and takes great commitment. That means rest is important. Take advantage of the coming days away from school to relax, recover and be ready for the return of the school year on Jan. 6.

We have had an outstanding first half of the school year. I have witnessed wonderful things take place in each of our schools over the last 16 weeks. Educators are designing and delivering exceptional learning experiences that are connected to the 4C’s of 21st century learning: creativity, collaboration, critical thinking and communication. Lunchroom staff have healthy meals ready every day, served with smiles. I see the pride our custodial staff take in keeping our schools in top shape for our students and staff. When riding the bus earlier this fall I saw the care and connections our drivers demonstrate with students and families. Coaches and advisors have prepared students for outstanding success in their co-curricular activities.

We are proud of our students’ many accomplishments across academic and co-curricular areas. One example of the high levels of academic success is that 82 percent of high school students who took an Advanced Placement exam last spring earned college credit. It is direct evidence of the value of a PreK-12 Eden Prairie Schools education.

Thank you, as always, for your support of our students. The partnerships we have with parents and guardians are another key reason Eden Prairie Schools is an exceptional school district.

Have a safe and fun winter break.

Check your email for a feedback form about school start times
Two changes are underway for the fall of 2021: moving 6th grade students to the CMS campus and moving preschool classes into elementary schools. These require updates to bus routes, which are designed around school hours. This means the time is right to look at school start times. On Dec. 17, all Eden Prairie parents/guardians were emailed a link to a short input form about school start and end times. You may need to check your spam/junk folder. No decisions have been made, and this input is a starting point in the study process. Additional opportunities to give feedback will also be available in early 2020. For more information visit

Volunteer Opportunity for Test Drive Event Feb. 12, 2020
Royal Credit Union returns to Eden Prairie High School with Test Drive: Next Stop Reality an event that provides students the opportunity to explore their future and learn hands on about some of the financial challenges that lie ahead. Volunteers can staff a variety of different stations representing real life areas of focus (e.g. child care, student loans, transportation, groceries and more). Students learn how to create a monthly budget and make decisions at the various volunteer stations. Learn more and sign up here.
Happy Holidays!
