"My participation in the Youth Ambassador Program has taught me so much about Alternatives to Guardianship. It's not often one gets to truly feel like an expert on something but now I do. And I am not only passively learning about the topic, but putting that knowledge into action, teaching my peers and working with other experts on tackling the issues we face as people with disabilities.”

Judge Glen Videos about Guardianship
Judge Glen is a retired Surrogate Judge of New York County. In New York, Judge Glen had jurisdiction over cases about guardianship of individuals with intellectual disabilities and wrote several groundbreaking decisions on the topic. Recently, several Youth Ambassadors had the opportunity to ask Judge Glen questions about her time on the bench and her thoughts about supported decision-making and alternatives to guardianship. These 3–10-minute videos are great resources for anyone who would like to better understand how some judges make decisions around guardianship.
