The Hancock County Public Library has issued digital-only access numbers to all students with a school portal.*

Their digital access number allows students to use the library's research databases and digital downloads from both school and home.

*Homeschool students may apply for a full access, traditional card at the library.

Our "Brainfuse HelpNow" service has live, online tutors for all grade levels available every day from 2-11 p.m.

They'll even give advice on writing assignments.

As with all library services, tutoring is free.

  1. OVERDRIVE eREADING ROOMS (Kids | Teens)
     are digital collections in OverDrive that display content by age group. Download and read offline. 
  2. NOVELIST helps kids & teens find books that are just right for their reading level and interests.
  3. TUMBLEBOOKS library takes existing picture books and adds animation, sound, music and narration. Each story comes with puzzles and games that enhance reading comprehension.

  • CULTURE GRAMS provides current information on over 200 countries and each US state (elementary to high school levels).
  • WORLD BOOK ONLINE includes current headline news, videos, a biography center, virtual tours, and a citation builder along with the entire World Book Encyclopedia (elementary to high school levels).
  • EXPLORA (Elementary | Middle | Educators) interface lets users easily search across a range of sources.
  • CQ RESEARCHER features in-depth, authoritative reports on political and social-policy issues extending back a decade (middle school grades and up).
