Sept. 30, 2020

Dear Parents & Students,

I hope this email finds you all well and enjoying some beautiful autumn weather. I know most of us on campus got outside during the Chatham Hall long weekend, including at the “Prefects Fall Carnival” that offered a number of different opportunities for some fall fun! Photographs from this and a variety of other areas of campus life are always available on the School’s SmugMug account if you would like to take a peek.

I am delighted to share with you today the news that we are now able to welcome the immediate household members of our Senior Chapel speakers to their Chapels! All of our family visit protocols will remain in effect, beginning when family visits become available on weekends from Oct. 3 & 4, including:

  • Parents will need to give Dean of Students Marin Miller at least 24 hours’ notice prior to arrival and fill out a brief survey.
  • Visits will take place between the hours of 12:00 - 5:00 p.m.
  • Only members of the student’s immediate household may visit. Dogs are allowed for outdoor visits, but must not be touched by students.
  • You must be able to drive directly from your home to campus (no public transportation use).
  • There will be an opportunity for seating in outdoor tents on a first come, first served basis.
  • Families are encouraged to bring lunch and/or other items to deliver to their daughters (make a picnic of it!).
  • All family members must first report to the Security desk in Pruden Hall, have their temperatures taken and IDs checked in our Raptor system, answer questions related to possible COVID exposure and symptoms, and then notify their children to meet them outside for a weekend visit or proceed directly to the Chapel.
  • Restrooms will be available in the hallway leading into the Yardley Dining Hall and in the gym for family needs.
  • Family members must refrain from entering any building besides Pruden Hall, the Chapel, and the gym.
  • Everyone must wear masks and social distance at all times while on campus. Unfortunately, hugging and other physical contact would result in a student needing to quarantine off campus.
  • Please park in the parking lot behind Yardley.

Additional protocols for families coming to campus to watch intramural athletics events, beginning Monday, Oct. 5, include:

  • Parking near the gym/courts/field.
  • Ensuring greater safety for all by reporting to the table near the gym, having their temperatures taken, and then proceeding to the athletic event.
  • Bringing their own sideline chairs to outdoor sports and distancing 10 feet from members of other households.
  • Positioning their seats 15-20 feet back from playing fields and courts.
  • Observing a maximum of 50 total spectators for indoor events, and adhering to bleacher seating limits in the gym with 10 feet of distance between members of other households.
  • Remaining 10 feet or more back from athletes at all times, including their daughter.
  • Refraining from delivering items to the possession of their student(s) at this time, and instead use the contactless delivery table in front of Pruden Hall.
  • Refraining from entering any building other than the gym for volleyball games or to use the restrooms.
  • Leaving campus within 10 minutes of the conclusion of the event.

Your observation of all protocols will allow us to remain as safe and healthy as possible, and to continue to look for new ways in which other protocols may be able to be relaxed on campus. If you have any questions about them, please feel free to contact:

We thank you in advance for your patience as we navigate these new guidelines, and look forward to seeing you on campus soon!
