Newsletters Resume Monthly Distribution
During recent modified operations, newsletters were distributed weekly. As we move into summer and fall instruction, we will resume the original monthly distribution schedule.

The next parent and family newsletter will be delivered on or about June 15. Thank you for your support!
Despite Pandemic
State Lawmakers Still Participate in Policy Class
As part of her introduction to public policy course at USC Aiken, Dr. Sarah Young challenged students to develop a thoughtful - and thought-provoking - brief on an issue related to higher education funding

But that's not all.

The students had to actually present the brief to lawmakers. To do that, Young invited three members of the local legislative delegation to visit her class: Sen. Tom Young, Jr., Rep. Bart Blackwell, and Rep. Melissa Oremus. When a global pandemic forced the university to shift all instruction to remote learning, the class figured out a way to meet with lawmakers online. Message from Greek Life President
My name is Bethany Trotter, and I am a senior who is proud to serve as president of the College Panhellenic Council (CPC). My goal is to ensure our National Panhellenic Conference (NPC) chapters run smoothly.

USC Aiken has three NPC sororities, three Interfraternity Council (IFC) fraternities, and nine National Pan-Hellenic Council (NPHC) chapters:

These chapters are full of students who support each other and have a passion for seeing others succeed. They strive to follow the mission of Greek Life at USC Aiken. These individuals not only work within their chapters but they also work within the university and greater Aiken community. Each chapter plans and hosts events to raise money for their philanthropies and to promote unity between chapters and our community.

Because of Greek Life, my leadership skills have skyrocketed. I have moved through positions of leadership not only within my chapter but also within NPC. I have learned to push myself and others toward common goals and have gained skills that will prepare me for life after college.

Because of Greek Life, I have found a passion for helping college students, and I am now making that my career. I am so thankful for the individuals I have met and for the impact Greek Life has had on my academic, social, and career goals.

Encourage your students to consider Greek opportunities this fall!
Bookstore Resources and Returns
Shipping labels can now be printed for book rental returns. Students should go here, login with the email they provided when renting their textbooks, and then print out the free return labels from their account tab. Books need to be in good condition with no missing pages, water damage, or excessive markings.

DuPont Planetarium
Gives Guests VIP Treatment
COVID-19 can't stop the Ruth Patrick Science Education Center's Dupont Planetarium from giving their guests and explorers of all ages an engaging, dynamic experience - event if it's in the comfort of their own homes.

For the next few weeks the Dupont Planetarium will release a new show on Thursdays.

H.O.P.E. - Hang On, Pandemics End
Members of the USC Aiken Men's Polo team, Charlie and Harry Caldwell, and their friends, take a break from practice to pose for a H.O.P.E. photo.
Maureen Nwajiaku and her applied computer science major student, Chukwudi (Chuddy) remind us to "Hang on. Pandemics end."
Nursing major, Caroline Dorn finished the semester strong. Her mother, Alice Dorn, shares:

"Keeping up with multiple Zoom meetings and changing assignments provided a different learning opportunity. Watching her grow and mature through this process has been challenging and fun. It wasn’t the end of freshman year that any of us imagined, but it has come with many blessings and silver linings."
