Summer! What a welcome time of year. Here at Parenting Now!, we are enjoying the warmer weather, putting this fiscal year to bed, and planning for new groups and programming in the fall. Kids are out of school and the energy and mood at Parenting Now! feels light. It is a welcome time indeed!

We’re excited about a new program kicking off this summer and continuing through Spring 2019. Thanks to a partnership with PeaceHealth and Safe Kids, we are now able to offer child car seat inspections by appointment, as well as monthly drop-in clinics! With all the traveling that happens this time of year, give us a call to make an appointment for a car seat check before you go.

Car seat safety is not only a good idea—it’s also the law—and proper seat usage and installation is important to make sure your family is safe while you travel.  Stay tuned to our Facebook page for more information about when we will be holding drop-in clinics this summer.

Best to you and your family in this easy season!

Executive Director

Our son Connor was barely a month old when we started our first group at Parenting Now! 10-years ago. We really wanted to get to know other families with babies. It is such a thrilling time, and we wanted to experience it with others. We also wanted our son to have kids to grow up with.

I had heard positive things about  Birth to Three (now Parenting Now!); that it was an opportunity to make lifelong friends. Turns out, the rumors were completely true. 10-years later, I can’t imagine my life without the friends we made in that very first group.

Connor was just a toddler when I became pregnant with our twins. The social support we received from group was the best. We made instant friends with a few families. We started having barbecues and brunches together—and we still do to this very day! READ MORE

PN! Staff Spotlight:
Claire Davis, Healthy Families Supervisor/Program Manager

I joined  Birth To Three ( now Parenting Now! in 2001. I don’t remember how I heard about the organization; it seems like everyone I talked to about wanting to work with parents and children in Eugene referred me to  Birth To Three . My favorite thing about PN! is that the organization invests in and supports staff personally and in our work.   I have made lifelong friends and colleagues at PN! who supported me as I have grown personally and professionally through the years.     READ MORE
PN! Board Spotlight:
Liz Schneider

Prior to starting a family, I worked in residential and day treatment with kids with behavioral and emotional challenges. I received my masters in Special Education and worked in public schools as a learning/behavior specialist for six years. When I was pregnant with my first son, I knew I wanted to focus on raising my family and our Jazzercise business. After giving birth to my second son, I became passionate about early childhood development, intervention, prevention and, more specifically, parent support. When I was approached about joining the board, it felt like a perfect fit. READ MORE
What an amazing spring! Since January, we have seen over 600 of you at our events around town. From the Preschool Fair to our Annual Auction and Gala to our Mother’s Day 5K and Fights and Bites wine tasting event, you all have shown up and shown us how much you care about the work we do here.

And by showing up, you have helped raise close to $130,000 for the important work we do here, helping rewrite families’ stories by giving them the skills, networks, and supports they need to thrive. We’ve all worked hard to show them how much we care. And we can’t let up.

There will be more opportunities to show up as the year goes on, more chances to show more families how much you care. And there is never any time like the present. Give a gift today to show a family how much you care. And do not forget to vote in the Kendall Auto Group’s $30,000 giveaway . The $5,000 we could win would provide 50 scholarships for families in our First Three Years program.

In the meantime, get out there and make some memories with your kids this summer and thank you, for all the great ones you have given us!
