Principal's Place
Dear Parent or Guardian,
The end of the school year has arrived and, in closing, I would like to wish our students, parents and school community a restful summer. The summer goes by very quickly, and before you know it, we will be back at school, once again, for another exciting school year.
Students and staff work hard during the school year and, therefore, I see the summer months as a time for rejuvenation and goal setting.

We all need time to relax and enjoy time with family and friends.
This has been a phenomenal school year. We have accomplished so much together, from Harvest Faire to Literacy Night sponsored by the PTA , Multicultural Fair and much, much, more. Students took an active role in every activity and left an indelible mark on me and this school. Their legacies live on forever.

The new school year will be both challenging and rewarding. There is little doubt that we will meet these new challenges with renewed commitment, enthusiasm and vigor. I would like to thank our outgoing PTA President, Yajaira Preciado, a big “thank you” for her hard work and dedication to our school for the last 5 years. She is a tremendous asset. Mariska Morales will assume the role of PTA President.

We have been working diligently on class assignments for next year. Our process is to have teachers make recommendations for the following year. Our student support team then reviews and makes additional suggestions and the final approval rests with the principal. Class assignments will be determined before school begins. We cannot accommodate requests for changes at that time and we are unable to disseminate any information on class assignments before that time. Thank you for your understanding and patience.

We have a number of ways to keep in touch about school.
If you’re a Facebook member be sure to like/follow our Monterey Heights Elementary Page. You can also visit our school’s website for the latest news, updates and calendars, as well as general information about the school, resources for parents, volunteer opportunity information, and event information.

It is a pleasure and a privilege to serve you as principal of Monterey Heights. I look forward to seeing our returning students and families, and getting to know our new parents and their students.

Warmly,
Principal Willson
