Week of January 21st - Janurary 25th
"Leader in Me" Habit of the Week
Habit #3- Put First thing First. Work first, then play.
  • I do the things that I have to do before I do the things that I want to do
  • I stay focused on what I'm doing. I try to minimize distractions and regroup if I get off task.
  • I spend my time on the things that are the most important.
Stallion Quote of the Week

“Those who try to do something and fail are infinitely better than those who try to do nothing and succeed.”
-Lloyd Jones

Principal's Message
Dear Stallion Families,

Happy MLK Day! We hope you enjoy this day of remembrance as we honor the legacy of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. We have just a couple of reminders as you prepare to return to school tomorrow.

Traffic Safety: Please do not drop off students in the red zones or driveways across the street from the school. Not only does it create a traffic jam, it sends the wrong message to students that it is okay to disobey the rules.

Attendance Reminder: It is important that students arrive to school on-time. Our gates close promptly at 8:00AM. Any student arriving after that time is required to enter through the front office and will be marked tardy.

Awards Assemblies: On the last Friday of each month, we hold our San Miguel Leadership Awards. This is when we formally recognize students from each class who exemplify the Leader In Me Habits. Parents of students receiving awards are contacted by the classroom teacher prior to the assembly. The date and times are listed below for your convenience and can also be found on our school website.

Last month, our entire 6th grade team received the Lemon Grove School District Engaged Learner Award and Mrs. Sowvlen's class received the Attendance Award for the class with the best attendance at San Miguel. This month, the Lemon Grove Engaged Learner Award goes to Mrs. Crew's kindergarten class and the Attendance Award goes to Mrs. Smith's 2nd grade class. We congratulate these classes on their achievements and thank them for their continued focus on student learning.

Be sure to follow us on Twitter and Facebook to see photos of all of the celebrations and wonderful things happening at San Miguel. The links are below for your convenience. Have a fantastic week!

Kindly,
Mrs. Richmond
