Message from your Principal
Dear Stallion Families,

March 1st marked the conclusion of the second trimester of the school year. Report cards will be going home with students on March 13-15th, so please be sure to check your student's backpacks.

March is off to a busy start. In addition to English Learner Testing (ELPAC), our K-6th graders ended Black History Month with a visit from local community leaders who read stories and shared about their favorite African American Heroes. Our preschoolers learned about fire safety with a visit from our local firefighters (fire engine included) and all of our students participated in "Reading on the Lawn" in honor of Dr. Seuss's Birthday.

Our busy month continues as we celebrate Women's History month, National Social Worker's month, and Nutrition Awareness Month. Our 1st grade students will begin a six week Nutrition Education Program with the UC Office of Natural Resources. You can participate in Nutrition Awareness Month at home by focusing on healthy eating habits. Simple everyday choices, like adding a fruit or veggie to every meal or making grilled meats instead of fried will add up to big results. Be sure to sure to check out the American Heart Association's March Newsletter for additional tips and even a heart healthy recipe!

Lastly, we are excited for the upcoming contemporary dance performance by our Kindergarten and 1st grade students in collaboration with the Malashock Dance Company. Our students will be showcasing their learning and appreciation of the arts on the morning of March 12th, in our school auditorium. Please check our school website for exact times.

We hope you all are staying dry this weekend and we wish you a Happy and Healthy week!
