Principal's Message
Dear San Miguel Families,

I need to share with you that I will be taking some time off to care for my mother who recently had spinal surgery. I expect to be out for four to six weeks, depending on the speed of her recovery. In the meantime, I am thrilled to have Mrs. Julie Jones serving as our interim principal in my absence. Mrs. Jones currently serves as our district program specialist for our Students Services Department and comes with a wealth of experience to support our students and staff. She will hit the ground running on Monday, so please do not hesitate to reach out to her at jjones@lemongrovesd.net if you have any questions or concerns. Mrs. Jones will be joined by Mrs. Laurel Duhnel, who will serve as our part-time assistant principal for the remainder of the school year. We welcome them to our San Miguel family and appreciate their support.

I want to thank all of our families who came out to support our first “Donuts with Dads”. It was quite impressive to see over two hundred father figures fill our auditorium. I know our students enjoyed having you spend the morning with us and we hope it was a valuable experience for you as well. We also hope you will continue to join us in learning by attending one of our “7 Habits Families” workshops listed below. RSVP by returning the flyers sent home with your student or by calling our front office.

Next week begins “The Great Kindness Challenge”. Your students will be participating in “kindness” activities throughout the week. They will also be challenged to complete an “Acts of Kindness” checklist, so be on the lookout for them. I hope you all will take a moment to show kindness to each other and to yourselves.

It is our honor to work with your students each day, and we thank you for your continued support of our students and staff.

Most sincerely,
Mrs. Richmond
