Message from our Principal
Happy Friday amazing San Miguel families!

Today rounds out our first full week of school and it has been such a learning experience for everyone - teachers, students, staff, and families. At this point, your child should be connected with his or her teacher via Google Classroom, attending daily Zoom lessons and families should be communicating with teachers via ClassDojo. I know that there have been struggles for many and a learning curve for all but the synergizing and problem-solving has been awesome to see!

Labor Day: Monday is a school holiday. Your child will not have a classroom schedule to follow that day.

School Board Meeting: I encourage you to tune into our district's School Board meeting on Tuesday at 6:00pm. Our Superintendent will be discussing options for students physically returning to school campuses. We will of course share updates with you all but listening in to this meeting gives you a chance to hear the information first hand. Please visit the district website ( on Tuesday evening at 6:00pm to log in to the meeting.

Cox service outage: We were notified that Cox Communications has a scheduled outage on Wednesday, September 9th. In an effort to improve connectivity, all services will temporarily be shut off for approximately 2-4 hours. If your household uses Cox Digital Telephone service, you will be without internet access and phone service. We do not know when the outage will occur and this decision making is completely out of our control. We understand that this will cause a disruption in your child's classroom schedule for the day. If your child is unable to participate in scheduled Zoom lessons on Wednesday, please make sure they complete the assigned asynchronous work for that day. I understand that they have been notifying customers through emails, postcards and door hangers but we want to make sure you have this information as well. For more information about our network upgrade project, please visit

Coffee with the Principal: On Friday at 10:00am I will be hosting a virtual Coffee with the Principal. I will be sharing any school and district updates and answering parent questions. Like all our other meetings at this time, this event will be hosted on Zoom. I hope to see you there:

YouTube: Make sure to check out our YouTube channel, the Stallion Station! We will post recordings of any events or meetings hosted, Jump Into Monday With Mrs. Jones, Reading with Mrs. Robinson and lots of other great videos. Remember to bookmark this page and check back often!

Please let us know if you need anything, we are here to help!

Julie Jones
