Dear SOCS Parents,

Perhaps some of you are familiar with Frodo and Gandolf's conversation from the "Lord of the Rings."
“I wish it need not have happened in my time," said Frodo.
"So do I," said Gandalf, "and so do all who live to see such times. But that is not for them to decide. All we have to decide is what to do with the time that is given us.

More appropriately, " Trust in the Lord with all your heart, and lean not on your own understanding."  Proverbs 3:5-6

As many of you know, Gov. Whitmer has closed all K-12 schools in the state beginning Monday, March 16 and scheduled them to resume (this subject to extension) on Monday, April 6.

Our preliminary plan here at SOCS is to offer remote learning education beginning Monday, March 16 and extending through Wednesday, April 1, the scheduled start of our spring break. After our "normal" spring break we plan to return to regular instruction on Monday, April 13. (This all subject to the public health situation in play as we move forward.)

Remote Learning Details:
Later today we will be in contact with you with the pertinent details. Thank you for your patience as we move together through this unchartered territory. As none of us has ever been on this exact journey, let's demonstrate patience with each other as we navigate Godly living in these circumstances.

Until next time,

Bart Den Boer
