Family Caregiving News From AARP
On Tuesday, September 10th, AARP hosted The Price of Caring 2019 Executive Summit in Washington, DC and announced important survey results about the in-store shopping struggles of family caregivers. Findings suggest that 31% of America's approximately 40 million unpaid family caregivers struggle when shopping in a store. This was just one topic of the many covered during the Summit which highlighted the needs of caregivers as constituents, employees, community members and consumers. The three-part program they created is known as the "Clay Lab" because participants take on the role of Clay, a 66-year-old veteran with incurable lung cancer.
