Hello Fall...

Welcome to the Digital Parish Newsletter.

There is nothing like the first snap of fall to encourage a change in our own attitudes.

Knowing that cooler temperatures and the splendor of nature are just around the bend does something to our spirit.

The contemplative feeling that comes along with the fall encourages us to think, feel and love more deeply. Fall urges to keep closer to home, draw closer to family and adventure deeper into what is most important to us.

As Catholics, we should be directing our thoughts to what is ahead liturgically: Hallowtide, Thanksgiving, Advent and the Hope of Christmas.

Use this time to keep your eyes fixed on the splendor of creation as well as the splendor of the things to come.

A look at this week's Gospel Message

Luke 15:1-10

You could be as lost as a sheep, a coin or wayward child and the Lord would still search for you & long for you to be home. There is nothing that He wouldn't do to show His love, mercy or amazing grace.

Today we hear three parables. Parables are stories that people could relate to, but they also teach important lessons about God. Jesus rarely explained parables; he let the people who heard them reflect on them in their own time and way. Today’s parables speak about forgiveness and deep love for those who are lost. Jesus gives an example of what overwhelming forgiveness is. Jesus himself forgives even as he is dying on the cross. In these three parables we see that the shepherd leaves his flock of ninety-nine to search for ONE sheep that has strayed. He cares so much for the one who has strayed and wants to bring it back. The woman spends time and energy trying to recover one lost coin. The Father waits for his son to return and then celebrates because his son who was lost, is now found!

Events around the Parish

Our Parish Home

To be transparent about what is going on at the Parish, we wanted to share the state of the Sanctuary.

If you were at Mass over the Labor Day weekend, you saw our progress having the stained glass panels removed from the church. For everyone’s safety, they needed to be brought down for repairs.

After 31 years of telling the story of Jesus’ ministry, they were in dangerous need of maintenance. Under the watchful eye of our resident artist, Dale Molnar, they will be repaired, recrafted and reinstalled over time. We know it is the a part of the crowning glory of our building, but it is far from the most important part of our church. We moved quickly to put the sanctity of our Mass and the safety of our parishioners and visitors at the top of our priorities. This means areas of the campus will be unavailable for the time being. We will work hard to keep you informed on our progress.

Your prayers and support are essential as we

navigate this along side you.

Thank you for your understanding and patience.

Nuestro Hogar Parroquial

Every Encounter with Christ starts with a Human Heart.

Read More about Encounter Nights at Transfiguration

Encounter is a time of Worship, Eucharistic Adoration, Contemplation and Prayer. We will have a dynamic young speaker; Ashley Diaz will share her faith and witness to the power of Christ at work in her life during our first Encounter of the season. She is a local Youth Minister and her talk will really get to the heart of what it is to trust in the Lord, and because of that trust, what God is doing in her life.

The night will be filled with Worship songs, Praise Music, Opportunities to pray in many ways. Including Eucharistic Adoration, Prayer Partners and Meditative Musical Moments. Local musicians and members of our Transfiguration music program will be here to lead us in song. Michael Mullink, Director of Evangelization and Discipleship at Transfiguration, will lead us in prayer and worship.

After our time together praising the Lord in the Church, we welcome everyone to come up to the Social Hall for some Refreshments and Fellowship to really get to know the members of the parish you’ve just shared that special encounter time with.

This event is for everyone! Adults, Teens, Families with kids of all ages. Come as a group, family or individual. All are welcome.

Each person is faced with the same dilemma... do they wish to know how long they’ll live? And, if so, what will they do with that knowledge?  What would you do?

It is hard to limit the list of joys during the diocesan phase of consultation. The most significant was the realization that the Holy Spirit was truly present and guiding our consultation. So many people involved, from core team members to participants, spoke of how they could feel the presence of the Holy Spirit throughout the process, but especially during the listening sessions.
