News from St. Patricia Parish
Will not God then secure the rights of his chosen ones who call out to him day and night?" -Luke 18:7
Dear Parishioners,

I recently came across some interesting facts and figures about the importance of lay people in the life of the Church.

Between 1965 and 2007, the U.S. Catholic population increased 48%, and the   number of priests available for pastoral ministry declined 8.5%. Between 2004 and 2020, according to Dean Hoge’s “Priesthood in Year 2020,” the estimated number of  Catholics per parish will increase from 3086 to 3700...
Please Welcome Missionary, Fr. Rodlin Rodrigue from the Sapaterre Mission located in Hinche, Haiti to St. Patricia. Fr. Rodrigue will speak about his ministry at this weekend's Masses.  There will be a second collection for this effort, whose primary goal is education and provides school supplies, backpacks, and uniforms to over 150 children. The  Sapaterre Mission really needs our support.  Thank you!

All Souls' Day 2022
Each year we gather for our Annual Mass of Remembrance. The names of the deceased, whose Funeral/Memorial Masses were celebrated at St. Patricia since November 2021, will be sung in their memory, and a candle will be provided to one family member or friend. We ask that one person, representing the family, bring up the candle during the Mass. All are invited to attend this Mass for All Souls’ Day.
Any questions, please contact Missy at 1-708-598-5222
KRUSE’S KREW will be packing Care packages for our Troops on Tues., October 18th at 6:00 p.m. at the Hickory Hills Community Center, located at 7800 West 89th Place, 2nd Floor. Our candy supply is low. After Halloween, please bring your extra candy and drop it off at the Gathering Space in Church. We are also low on Jerky and K-cup coffee. We always look forward to volunteers stopping by and helping us with packing packages. Thank you!

What is CLOW/Children’s Liturgy of the WORD?
During Mass, children, ages 4 and up, are invited to go with a catechist to the church’s gathering space to learn about the readings of the day through fun faithfilled

Bring your child(dren) for CLOW and help them discover the awesome wonders of our Catholic faith!
St. Patricia School Good News
St. Patricia celebrated the Feast of the Archangels on September 28, 2022 and were joined by some of our city leaders, including Mayor Howley and City Clerk Dee Catizone , police officers, firefighters, and paramedics at morning Mass.

It was a great sight to see, the St. Patricia community honoring these brave and dedicated people, as they continue to protect us and our neighbors. Fr. Meany offered a blessing of protection in honor of St. Michael. Thank you Mrs. Sue Lang and Mrs. Chris Ramos for coordinating a lovely Mass and reception afterward. May God bless all who serve!
