News from St. Patricia Parish
And one of them, realizing he had been healed, returned, glorifying God in a loud voice;" -Luke 17:15
Dear Parishioners,

How do we, the people of the United States, value our ability to vote?

The first day for early voting will begin shortly for the November 8th general elections. How many people in the Chicagoland area will go out and vote? How do we deal with the questions that face our country? How can we be an example to the people around the world? Where do we need to improve?

Does our faith in Jesus Christ help us to be good citizens? Does character and integrity matter? Is “people power” enough? Is it important to be guided by a deeper reality? Should we let capitalism determine the economy without any intervention?...
St. Patricia welcomes Father Michael Knotek this weekend!

Father Knotek will give the Advent Parish Mission this November. He will speak at all the masses on the weekend of November 26-27th and then lead the mission reflection on Monday and Tuesday evenings, November 28-29 at 7 p.m.

We are so happy to have him visit with us this Saturday at the 4 p.m. Mass to learn more about St Patricia Parish and to meet our parishioners! Please give him a warm welcome!

2022 Christifideles Award
This year’s recipient of the Christifideles Award was presented by Cardinal Blase J. Cupich on Sunday, October 2, 2022 at Holy Name Cathedral to Mrs. Jessica Scialo.

In Mrs. Scialo’s words: “It was an honor to be recognized by Fr. Meany for my many works from the heart, here at St. Patricia! I have been incredibly blessed to be able to partner with my dear friend, Noreen Campbell, on the Spring Play for the past 18 years, where together we have been able to connect with so many talented young people and their amazing families. I am also grateful each day when I arrive to volunteer at the school. Reading to students in the classroom and inspiring kids to be creative and try new things in after school Creative Artists at Play, brings a special kind of joy to my heart. Thank you St. Patricia!”

CONGRATULATIONS JESSICA FROM THE ST. PATRICIA FAMILY!
KRUSE’S KREW will be packing Care packages for our Troops on Tues., October 18th at 6:00 p.m. at the Hickory Hills Community Center, located at 7800 West 89th Place, 2nd Floor. Our candy supply is low. After Halloween, please bring your extra candy and drop it off at the Gathering Space in Church. We are also low on Jerky and K-cup coffee. We always look forward to volunteers stopping by and helping us with packing packages. See you then! Below is a letter from a Chaplain in Djibouti, Africa, one of the units we support.
