News from St. Patricia Parish
"I will get up and go to my Father and shall say to him:
Father, I have sinned against heaven and against you."
-Luke 15:18
Dear Confirmation Candidates, Family Members, and Parishioners,

First of all, my warmest congratulations to all who have received the sacrament of Confirmation this weekend at St. Patricia. Bishop Joseph Perry anointed our young people with the oil of chrism (a consecrated oil) by  making the sign of the Cross on their foreheads while he says their confirmation name and the words, “be sealed with the gift of the Holy Spirit.” They respond, “Amen.” Then, the Bishop says, “Peace be with you.”

I know they have been preparing and waiting for this important day for a long time. They have studied their faith; they have practiced their faith; and, they have prayed.

And, let me share something with all of you. This was a very special day for me, too! This is the first year I have celebrated the sacrament of Confirmation at St. Patricia. And, therefore, together we were both excited and filled with joy!
ST. PATRICIA
CONFIRMATION CLASS OF 2022
St. Patricia Parish welcomes the Most Reverend Joseph Perry, Auxiliary Bishop, Archdiocese of Chicago, who has administered the Sacrament of Confirmation on Saturday, March 26, 2022. May the Holy Spirit dwell within the hearts of our Confirmation Class. We now welcome these young people into their full membership in the Catholic Church. Please keep them all in your prayers.

The culture may think Catholicism and Christianity, in general, is irrelevant, but the world needs Catholics now more than ever. It’s time for all of us to be unapologetically Catholic! Join us for 2 evenings as Deacon John talks about our current culture, how we got there and how we, the church can be the light of Christ in an anti-Christian culture. We’ll discuss practical things we can do, and by God’s grace turn the tide. He will focus on night 2 how the power of the sacrament of reconciliation will help us to do that. 12 men united to Christ changed the world. All of us, in the power of the Holy Spirit, can too.

Pray for Ukraine
"The war in Ukraine, and the resulting humanitarian crisis due to those seeking refuge, is going to require sacrifice on all of our behalfs; I urge you to stay the course. Please pray that the people of Ukraine and that people around the world will have the courage to fight against the evil that we all face to ensure a lasting peace. Let us all offer our prayers and sacrifices as we enter our spiritual Lenten journey and ask for peace for those suffering from injustices, unrest, and persecution in this crisis."
