News from St. Patricia Parish
I give you a new commandment: love one another. As I have loved you, so you also should love one another.
-John 13:34
Dear Parishioners,

In my letter of last weekend, I focused on Mother’s Day. This weekend, my focus is on the gospel for last Sunday, the Fourth Sunday of Easter, in which we traditionally remember Jesus, the Good Shepherd.

Jesus, the Good Shepherd, never leaves His Church unattended. He uses the voices of people in the family of faith to be His voice today — to share the great promise that makes all the difference in our lives: “I give my sheep eternal life, and they shall never perish. No one can take them out of my hand.”

In particular, may I ask you to lift up in prayer our permanent Deacons as they celebrate their ordination anniversaries.

Deacon Norb (Pat) Weitendorf - May 11, 1974 - celebrates his 48th Deacon ordination anniversary and his dedicated service to St. Patricia Parish. By the way, on May 19th, he will celebrate his 85th Birthday. His wife, Patricia, has been a steady companion and has witnessed Jesus’ presence in her own right, and she deserves high praise for all the sacrifices that she has undertaken for God’s people.

Deacon Charley Keegan - May 21, 1977 - celebrates his 45th Deacon ordination anniversary years and his dedicated service to St. Patricia Parish. On March 14th, he celebrated his 83rd birthday!

Creation Care Ministy
Well, St. Patricia Parish, we asked and you GAVE, and GAVE, and GAVE. Drum roll please… We sold 1,500 carnations! SPRED cannot thank you all enough for the love and support you showed us this past Mother’s Day weekend. Your support was incredible. A big thank you also for the generous donations we received. We had a bucket full of carnations left that we took to the nursing home on 93rd and  Roberts Road. They were happy and appreciative to receive them. I wish I could personally thank each of you for your part. It takes a village to raise a child and it takes a Parish like St. Patricia’s to make SPRED feel like family. A very special THANK YOU to Father Meany and Bertha Castro for their behind-the-scenes support. Without them, this could not have taken place.

THANK YOU again!!

Welcome Weekend - May 21st & 22nd
Twice a year, in the spring and in the fall, we celebrate WELCOME WEEKEND at St. Patricia Parish. During this weekend we invite new parishioners to register at St. Patricia and ask our current parishioners to update their contact information, including email addresses, phone numbers, and mailing addresses.
We also highlight the parish ministries offered here at St. Patricia. We are updating our Spring 2022 Parish Ministry Directory with ministry descriptions and contact updates to our existing ministries, and we also have added four (4) new ministries to consider since the Fall 2021 Ministry Directory was published. We are a growing faith community here at St. Patricia Church!

The Welcoming Committee will be hosting hospitality after all Masses in the Gathering Space, including juices, water, and cookies. If you have a few moments after Mass, please stay, meet, and greet new people. The Welcoming Committee will be there to answer any of your questions.
