Priests' Convocation
June 27-30, 2022

Priests serving in the Archdiocese of Chicago will gather for their triennial convocation from June 27 through June 30. This gathering is an important and necessary time of spiritual renewal for the priests, so that they can better serve the People of God.

The people of the Archdiocese can support their priests in several ways. Their patient understanding of scheduling changes is very important. Even more important is the prayerful support they extend to priests who have prayed for them and with them. Please use the prayer found at the end of this announcement as a personal prayer or a family prayer.

As the priests gather for their convocation, know that they bring you and your families in their hearts to this important time of prayer and reflection...
Parish Happenings
St. Patricia Parish Campus Improvements
Tree trimming and stump removal throughout the St. Patricia campus.

Last summer, five dead trees were cut down and the stumps removed. Some were on the parkway, and one was in front of the rectory and others in back. Our in-house maintenance crew cut down many of the “weed trees” that had grown up around the back of the school, the baseball back stop and the north lot of the school. Because of the number of stumps and locations, the stumps were not ground out. So, last fall and this spring, all of these trees started to grow branches again.

During the second week of June, three additional trees were removed and several trees were trimmed. On the north side of the property by the garages, over 10 tree stumps were removed, some by hand using an ax because they were so close to the building, and overgrown bushes were reshaped. On the west side, over five stumps were removed, and on the south side, five stumps were removed. One had grown between the building and the main gas line next to the gym. We are very grateful to have these necessary improvements completed and to continue to beautify our property. Thank you!

Religious Education Good News
St. Patricia School Good News
The St. Patricia Family said “until we meet again” to Mrs. Colleen Mazurek at the end of this school year on June 7, 2022. Mrs. Mazurek has been the School Office Administrative Assistant for 25 years. We will dearly miss her smile in the office greeting students and families and her voice each afternoon reminding us of what is coming up at SPS. Thank you for your kindness and dedication to making our school and each day the best it can be!

We celebrated Mrs. Mazurek at the school’s final Mass and at a faculty and staff party!

Because of you, Mrs. Mazurek, we have all been changed for the good! You will be with us like a handprint on our hearts. Enjoy your well-earned retirement!
