News from St. Patricia Parish
“In the same way, everyone of you who does not renounce all his possessions cannot be my disciple." -Luke 14:33
Dear Parishioners,

As the seasons shift now from summer to autumn, we may use this time to shift our own perspectives. And, we might recall that our task as Christian disciples is to look to what Christ has already accomplished and continues to accomplish in us.

As we gather in church to celebrate our common bonds as parishioners, being mindful of welcoming the newcomer, I encourage everyone to go outside of your comfort zone. Seek out and meet a neighbor for the first time, or listen carefully to someone from a different generation other than yourself.

Next Sunday (September 11th) is Grandparents’ Day … let us gather as an extended family and count our blessings. We will also remember all our loved ones who have died. It is a good time to reconnect with a friend or find a new one.
Parish Happenings
Stop and Visit After Sunday Masses in September!
The Parish Pastoral Council (PPC) invites you to deepen your relationship with the Parish and the many good people who make it up by taking some time to visit after all the Masses next Sunday and all through September.
The conversations shared over coffee, juice, and a sweet roll during the weeks of September will strengthen us as missionary disciples.!
Knight of Columbus News
This past Saturday, we celebrated the Knights of Columbus and their 125th Anniversary with Bishop Wypych and Fr. Meany concelebrating Mass and a lovely dinner reception in the Parish Center! We also crowned our St. Patricia Statue in honor of the Feast of St. Patricia on 8/25/22!
Holy Name Society News
We are proud to announce that there were 4 winners of our “Split the Pot” event which took place on August 28th during the Hickory Hills Street Fair. We are especially proud to announce that 3 of the 4 winners were Parishioners of St. Patricia Parish!

We would like to sincerely thank all those who purchased Split the Pot tickets, as well as all those who volunteered and participated in the ticket presales, and finally, those who volunteered their time to help at our booth on Sunday the 28th which made our event a huge success.

Congratulations to our winners!

Sincerely,
St. Patricia Holy Name Society

School Building Updates
Over summer break, the hallways of SPS received a fresh coat of paint in Bobcat Blue! Once the hallways were completed, 8th-grade student Glorija R. designed and hand-painted unique Bobcat artwork above some of our key doorways and spaces. Her artistic efforts were the perfect touch to complete the project! Thank you Glorija for sharing your talent with St. Patricia, we will admire it for years to come!
