In the Gospel of Luke, we hear the miracle of Jesus multiplying the loaves and the fish. Jesus responded to the hunger within each person. Jesus gives a glimpse of God's Kingdom where justice and peace will prevail. Now, we are challenged to reflect on how we respond to the hungers in the world. We rejoice in the real presence of Christ in the Eucharist. It is Christ's presence that feeds us and it is Christ's presence that we then share with the world. (Liturgy of the Word, pg. 208) |
