All Church Lunch & Advent Wreath/Creche Workshop: Join us in Fellowship Hall after worship on Sunday, November 23 for lunch and a hands-on Advent wreath-making activity with fresh-cut greenery. Also, if you’ve been crafting the handmade crèche pieces each year, your next piece will be waiting for you. If you’re new to the tradition, come pick up your first piece and begin building your own nativity set. All are welcome! Please RSVP so we can be sure to have enough food and wreath materials for everyone.

Holiday Meal Boxes

This season, the Mobile Food Pantry will provide Thanksgiving turkeys and Christmas hams to local families in need. A gift of $18 covers the cost of a complete turkey or ham dinner—enough to feed up to eight people. You may donate online by clicking here or by writing a check with “Holiday Meal Box” in the memo line. Thank you for helping share the joy of the holidays with our neighbors.

Advent Book Study: Hope Restored: This study explores Brueggemann’s vision of a “gritty, wide-awake” hope that refuses to accept injustice and calls God’s people to imagine new possibilities. We’ll see how the Hebrew Bible and the life of Jesus reveal a tenacious shalom that breaks through struggle and suffering. Together, we’ll reflect on what this hope might look like in our lives and in the world today.

Mondays, November 24–December 15 | 2:00–3:00 PM (at church) or 6:00–7:00 PM (Zoom).

The book is available at your favorite bookseller.

First Light Service on November 23: If your heart feels heavy or you are carrying the weight of grief as we move towards Thanksgiving and Christmas, join us for First Light: A Service of Hope & Healing on Sunday, November 23, at 6 PM in the chapel. This contemplative candlelight service, led by Rev. Amy M. Heinrich and our Stephen Ministers, offers a space to find comfort, hope, and healing. Music will be led by Adam Hendrickson.
