Stewardship Campaign Kick-Off

The Stewardship Committee is excited to announce the launch of the 2025 Stewardship campaign,  “Flourish.”  This initiative is not just about nurturing our resources but also about cultivating a vibrant community where all are welcome, celebrated, and empowered to Flourish in the Light of God’s Love.

How You Can Help

Your support is crucial to the life and vibrancy of our church. Here are ways you can contribute:

Pledge: Prayerfully consider your financial contribution to the General Fund, which is used to support the various ministries of First Pres. and send in your pledge to the church office or designate your online giving in Realm (link below) by the October 27 due date.

  • Make sure to pay your Per Capita offering  - $36.50 due by December 31, 2024 - as First Pres is responsible to pay this amount per each member to the Presbytery of Chicago.

Volunteer: Help spread the love of Christ by giving of your time and talent.

Check out serving opportunities on the First Pres website: firstpreslibertyville.org/serve/

Spread the Word: Share Christ’s love by inviting your family and friends to church.

Check out the First Pres website at firstpreslibertyville.org for news and events.

Together, we can create a community of hope and discipleship, and we are grateful for your continued support and dedication.

Winter Clothing Needed!

Gently used or new winter clothing can be dropped off in the narthex of the sanctuary and chapel through Tuesday, Oct. 15. The clothing items will be distributed at our Mobile Food Pantry on Saturday, Oct. 19.

Indigenous Peoples Worship at 10 AM on Sunday, Oct. 13

Rev. Dr. Brian R. Paulson is preaching in the sanctuary. The service will also be available on our YouTube channel.

There is no Sunday School this week so all might participate in our Indigenous Peoples focused worship. Kid's Worship Kits are available as you enter the sanctuary. Caregiving is provided for kids ages birth through age 2 in the nursery and for ages 3-4 in the PreK-K caregiving room (105/106).

Flower Dedications: The flowers on Sunday are placed to the glory of God by Anna Groebe and Jake Bates in celebration of their 5th wedding anniversary; and by Gloria Song in honor of our faithful and loving First Pres congregation.

Wisdom at the Crossroads: On Sunday, Oct. 20, Dr. Jonathan Walton, President of Princeton Theological Seminary, will offer video greetings and thanks to First Pres for its leadership in offering the premiere Protestant Christian theological library for the world. Over a ten year period, our congregation shared a major gift for this vital cornerstone designed to promote Christian learning and discipleship for generations to come. This is part of our continuing stewardship to deepen faith in Lake County and as a gift for all Christians near and far. A plaque commemorating the gift of our church is located beside a central window where students study and reflect in preparation for ministry.

Coffee & Conversation: Your wisdom is sought by family, co-workers and neighbors. Build your reserves for each of those conversations by attending Coffee & Conversation after worship next Sunday. Two professors from Princeton Theological Seminary, Dr. Chip Dobbs-Allsopp and Dr. Gordon Mikoski, will give you insight and resources from both ancient biblical wisdom and current cultural trends. This hour long conversation will strengthen your life and Christian discipleship. Don’t miss it!

Service of Installation & Party for Rev. Nicole Chapman-Farley

You’re invited to a Worship Party on Sunday, Oct. 27 to celebrate Rev. Nicole’s installation as Associate Pastor. There will be Service of Installation at 3:00 PM in the sanctuary, followed by a party in Fellowship Hall!
