Fall into a new routine starting this Sunday morning
Join us at 9 a.m. on Sunday in Fellowship Hall for a new interactive, intergenerational Faith Formation experience called Follow Me.

Come to Fellowship Hall between 8:45-9 a.m. and look for the Welcome Table where you can get a name tag and a table assignment. The Nursery will be open starting at 8:45 a.m. for children under 3.
Around 9:20 a.m., we’ll split into five age-based groups. Each of these groups will be led by adult teachers:
  •  Pre-Kindergarten
  •  Kindergarten-2nd Grade
  •  3rd-5th Grade
  •  Middle School
  •  Adults and High School Youth
At 9:45 a.m., we’ll meet back in Fellowship Hall and head upstairs to worship. Kids in Pre-Kindergarten will remain in class.
Worship/Kids Church (10 a.m.)
At 10 a.m., worship will begin in the sanctuary. Pre-Kindergarten children are invited to a play-based class just for them in Room 105, while children in Kindergarten and up are invited to begin with their families in worship.

After the scripture readings, children in Kindergarten through 4th grade are invited to head over to the chapel with Rev. Ryan Wallace for Kids Church. The Pre-Kindergarten class will come to the chapel towards the end of Kids Church, so all kids can be picked up in the chapel right after worship.
Watch this video created by Rev. Ryan Wallace for an explanation of our new format.

If you’d like to participate in Follow Me by Zoom, please register in advance here. Follow Me is designed to be a highly interactive faith formation experience. We are working towards creating a more interactive experience for our online participants in the coming weeks, but we also ask for their patience as we get started this fall as their participation will be limited for some parts of Follow Me.

Our adult "Breakfast & Bible" group, which meets on Zoom on Wednesday mornings, will also be using the Follow Me curriculum this fall. If you're interested in joining this group, call the church at 847-362-2174 or email to learn more.
Join us for worship on Sunday at 10 a.m.
The Rev. Dr. Brian R. Paulson is leading worship in the Sanctuary. Gloria Song is at the organ and David Edelfelt is leading the Chancel Choir.

Please remember that masks are currently required in all indoor areas of the church. Our worship service is livestreamed at 10 a.m. on YouTube and will be recorded for those who wish to view it later in the day. Click here to download our online worship bulletin.

Flower Dedications
We have two flower dedications this week:
  • Amy Scovill with endless gratitude for all of God’s Gardeners.
  • David Ruth in loving memory of his wife, Pam, on what would have been their 46th wedding anniversary.

Junior High & Senior High Fellowship
Our youth groups start this Sunday (Sept. 12) and we hope your middle school and high school students will join us for food, fun and fellowship! They are welcome to bring a friend!

"For I was hungry and you gave me food, I was thirsty and you gave me drink, I was a stranger and you welcomed me." Matthew 25:35
The Deacon Board asks you to support PADS financially as the new season begins. Deacons will be available following worship this Sunday (Sept. 12) and next Sunday, Sept. 19 to accept your donations to this important ministry.

Your generous gifts will allow the PADS leaders to purchase groceries and other supplies needed to keep the weekly shelter in operation.
Please consider donating a gift card in any amount from Jewel, Mariano’s, Target or Wal-Mart. A donation may be made by check (made out to First Presbyterian Church, with “PADS” written on the memo line).

If you prefer to give electronically, simply click here or scan the QR code to the right.

Thank you in advance for your generous support for people in need!
The Gift of Giving
Do not neglect to do good and to share what you have, for such sacrifices are pleasing to God. Hebrews 13:16
It is hard to take in the depth of God’s love, grace and sacrifice for us. We naturally want to please and worship God in gratitude for all of His blessings. There are many ways we worship God. If you saw Kirk Townander’s stewardship message last Sunday, you were reminded of how we worship God with music.

Giving is also a form of worship. Beyond the ritual of passing the offertory plate, when we are cheerful givers, we are glorifying God and putting our faith into action. Our generosity makes possible the numerous programs, missions and events of our church. God is glorified and others may come to know Him. That is the Gift of giving!

Prayerfully consider how sharing your blessings with others is a joyful act of worship. To learn more, or to complete your 2022 Giving Estimate, visit
Thank you to all of our Volunteers!
Thank you to everyone who volunteered last Sunday at our "Labor of Love" events. Your time and talent were deeply appreciated.
The Color of Compromise
Sunday, Sept. 26 at 11:30 a.m. in person or on Zoom
Join us for a discussion of Jemar Tisby’s The Color of Compromise. This book is a powerful reminder of the Protestant church’s complicity in racism as it traces racism from the days of slavery to the current BLM movement.

We will meet in person in Social Hall. If you'd like to participate via Zoom, please pre-register here to receive the link.
