ODEC Needs YOU, and we have a place for you! With so much “re-emerging” Old Donation has some needs for ministry areas. Here are some things we need now. If you want to be part of any of these please respond to this email.
Funeral Reception

This Saturday, March 12, we need some food and folks to help with a reception at 1:00. We need light finger food, brownies, cookies or other dessert foods. Four to six people would be very helpful for us to organize and serve a medium sized reception. 
Sunday Worship Support

We are reestablishing our lists of lay ministers and will begin to use our scheduling system. If you would like to participate, please let us know. Training is provided for all roles. 

Ushers - for both 10:00am services. You need to report 20 minutes before the service time. Sign up HERE.

Lectors / Readers - for all services. Please specify which services you wish to read for 8am, 10am, 10am Gathering, 5pm.

Eucharistic Ministers - Chalice bearers are needed for all services. Please specify which service(s) you wish to serve for 8am, 10am, 10am Gathering, 5pm.

Acolytes - we schedule acolytes from age 7 up. 

Choir - for the 10:00am in the Church, St. Cecilia Choir. The choir practices Thursday evenings.

Nursery Subs - we have two wonderful nursery workers, but they occasionally need a Sunday off! Please let us know if we can call on you from time to time to fill in.
 
Children’s Chapel Leaders/Assistants - Love kids? You can help on the occasional Sunday morning (10:00am services) to lead a pre-planned curriculum, or simply be an extra adult hand in the room. We need you! No experience or planning necessary, no year-long commitment - we’ll schedule you as frequently or infrequently as you desire.
 
Digital Ministry Team - we need people to help with the Sunday streamed service, but we also want to develop a team to advance our digital ministry and virtual presence. If this is something that interests you, please let us know!
Middle School Mentors

Sunday School classes are restarting asap. We need a new team of teachers for the 6-8th grade class. Class meets Sunday mornings from 11:15-12:00 noon. We provide curriculum materials and coaching. 
Seeking Sofas and Armchairs

The New Building project is moving into the fitting out phase and to that end we seek potential donations of sofas, loveseats, and armchairs to equip the Coventry Room in the new rear wing. We hope for pieces that are “gently used” and a solid color. If you have a sofa or armchair that meets this description and you would like to offer to the Church then please contact David Beach at dbeach@olddonation.org or Gretchen Hood at odec@olddonation.org. A photo would be helpful!
Gardeners

The construction project delivered a new landscape that, along with the old, must be maintained through a critical year as the new plantings establish themselves in our campus. Stuart Forbes, the driving force behind our Tuesday “Weekly Yard Crew” has retired from heavy duty yard work and we are blessed by Christine (Chris) Benns taking up the role of Chair of the Grounds Commission.

We'd like parishioners and their families willing to take on “maintenance ownership” of areas of the grounds that will need care and attention throughout the year. These areas are mainly flower beds and the areas around shrubs and saplings. Volunteers will be asked to give of their time and talent to care for their allocated area as and when it suits their schedules and will serve to complement the work undertaken by the ground’s maintenance contractor.
