THE SOLEMNITY OF THE MOST HOLY TRINITY
- Sunday, June 7, 2020
Trinity Sunday, officially called " The Solemnity of the Most Holy Trinity" , is one of the few celebrations of the Christian Year that commemorates a reality and doctrine rather than a person or event. On Trinity Sunday, Christians remember and honor the eternal God: the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit. Trinity Sunday is celebrated the Sunday after Pentecost.
The feast of the Blessed Trinity was introduced in the ninth century and was only inserted in the general calendar of the Church in the fourteenth century by Pope John XXII.
The Catechism of the Catholic Church underscores the importance of this teaching when it notes: “The mystery of the Most Holy Trinity is the central mystery of the Christian faith and of Christian life” ( CCC 261 ). The Trinity is the truth at the foundation of all other truth. This mystery exceeds human understanding, but it is a truth we come to know through faith.

Why is this feast celebrated at this particular time?
It may be interpreted as a finale to all the preceding feasts. All three Persons contributed to and shared in the work of redemption. The Father sent His Son to earth, for "God so loved the world as to give His only-begotten Son." The Father called us to the faith. The Son, our Savior Jesus Christ, became man and died for us. He redeemed us and made us children of God. He ever remains the liturgist  par excellence  to whom we are united in all sacred functions. After Christ's ascension the Holy Spirit, however, became our Teacher, our Leader, our Guide, our Consoler. On solemn occasions a thanksgiving  Te Deum  rises spontaneously from Christian hearts.

PRAYER TO THE HOLY TRINITY

 Glory be to the Father,
Who created me,
in the image and likeness of God.

Glory be to the Son,
Who by His Passion and Cross
triumphed over hell,
and showed me the way to heaven.

Glory be to the Holy Spirit,
Who cleansed me in the
sacrament of Baptism,
and continues to bless me
with graces I receive every day.

Glory be to the Three Persons of the Holy Trinity, now and forever.
Amen.

THE MOST SACRED HEART OF JESUS - JUNE 19
Prayer to the Sacred Heart

O most holy Heart of Jesus,
fountain of every blessing,
I adore You, I love You,
and with a lively sorrow for my sins,
I offer You this poor heart of mine.
 Make me humble, patient, pure,
and wholly obedient to Your will.
Grant, good Jesus,
that I may live in You and for You.
Protect me in the midst of danger;
comfort me in my afflictions.
Give me health of body,
assistance in my temporal needs,
Your blessing on all that I do,
and the grace of a holy death.
AMEN.
