News from St. Patricia Parish
"Give the Lord Glory and Honor"
Dear Parishioners,

In the next few weeks, I will share with you some of the “Renew My Church” key points.

BUILDING THE NEW REALITY
With the structural, operational, financial, and personnel foundations in place, the grouping parishes focus on three critical steps supporting parish vitality; developing a parish core leadership team, building and fostering a culture of evangelization, and a long-term pastoral plan for making disciples, building communities, and inspiring witnesses.

PARISH CORE LEADERSHIP TEAM
Many of our parishes are blessed with lay leaders who work side by side with their priests,
deacons, and religious in bringing people closer to Christ...
The Installation Mass for Fr. Meany was a wonderful evening celebrated by our St. Patricia family. We are incredibly grateful to our Parish members and school parents who volunteered and gave their time and hard work in support of the event! We are especially proud of our St. Patricia student volunteers who did a remarkable job serving at the reception! Thank you to everyone!

All are invited to join us on Saturday, October 23rd at 4:00 pm Mass and for the dedication after Mass where a permanent plaque will be installed and dedicated. The plaque will be placed at the base of the Cross and will read:

Dedicated to our beloved Pastor
REV. MARCEL J. PASCIAK

In Appreciation of 14 Years of Service at
St. Patricia Church and School
June 2007 to June 2021

We thank God for his 47 Years as Faithful Priest, Good Shepherd and Devoted Servant.

A remembrance card will also be presented with the names of our generous donors.
Welcome Weekend October 23-24, 2021
We are pleased to announce that our next Welcome Weekend is planned for October 23-24, 2021 at every Mass.

We will invite the congregation to complete the St. Patricia Parishioner/Family Registration Form (similar to the Annual Catholic Appeal process our Pastor administers each February). We want to make sure we have the latest contact information for all Parishioners/Families. The Welcoming Committee members will distribute the Parish Registration Forms and pencils after Communion. We will ask you to complete the Registration Form if:

  1. You are new and would like to register with the Parish.
  2. You had a change of mailing address since October 2019.
  3. You had a change of cell phone or email address since October 2019.
  4. You registered many years ago and never gave us your cell phone number or email address.
  5. You would like to update the members of your household in our Parish records.

If you do not have any changes or updates, then you will not need to complete a Parish Registration Form at this time.

The Parish Registration Forms can be returned after Mass in a sealed box in the Gathering Space, or dropped off at the Rectory during the week, or brought back to Mass next weekend.

Also, we will distribute an updated Fall 2021 St. Patricia Parish Ministry Booklet after Masses on Welcome Weekend. The Ministry Booklet contains a description of each Ministry here at our Parish, along with contact information about joining. Please consider joining a new Ministry to grow your relationship with St. Patricia’s faith community. Fr. Mike Meany will speak at each Mass on the importance and value of joining a Parish Ministry and how our Ministries help our parish and local community grow in the faith.

We will have hospitality after each Mass in the Gathering Space.

St. Patricia Religious Education News
October is the month we celebrate the Blessed Mother and the Holy Rosary. If you need a rosary, please contact our office at 708-599-1221. We always have some blessed rosaries available for our St. Patricia family.

This past Tuesday, we held a special retreat for the students who will be receiving the Sacraments of First Reconciliation and First Communion this year. Fr. Marcel Pasciak lead this dynamic retreat for the students and their parents. It was a wonderful time for these families to talk to each other about Jesus and share their Catholic faith. Please pray for them as they continue to prepare for these beautiful sacraments!

In Christ,

Volunteers Needed

If you are interested in volunteering, please contact Ms. Missy Keegan at mkeegan@stpatriciaparish.com or call the Parish Office at (708) 598-5222.
Alpha
Alpha is a program designed particularly for people who would not describe themselves as Christians or churchgoers. It is a series of 15 interactive sessions, typically completed in 11 weeks, including a weekend away, where anyone can explore life and the Christian faith in a friendly, open, and informal environment. Everyone is welcome! There is no charge to attend Alpha – it is free! After a small meal and time spent getting to know one another, a short talk and group discussion will follow. We are looking for volunteers to be part of this wonderful team to serve as Hosts or Helpers. We will have training sessions twice a year. Please view the video below for an overview of the program.

Please contact Missy Keegan (708) 598-5222, mkeegan@stpatriciaparish.com if you have any questions, want to participate in Alpha (or know someone who would like to), or want to be a volunteer as an Alpha Host or Helper.
