News from St. Patricia Parish
The blind man said, “Master, I want to see.” Jesus told him, “Go your way; your faith has saved you.” -Mark 10:51-52
Dear Parishioners,

This weekend, at the 4:00 p.m. Mass, we recognize Fr. Marc Pasciak for his 14 years of service to St. Patricia and for his 47 years as a priest of the Archdiocese of Chicago! The Cross in front of the Church will always remind us of his service and the call to discipleship that all of us strive to live each day. Remember: The only thing that really lasts is what we paradoxically give away. Yes, love and sacrifice go hand in hand. Congratulations, Fr. Marc!

Our Welcoming Committee encourages you to take another look at our many ministries as we begin the busy fall season of events. Remember, it is in a community that we grow as an individual. All the letters of St. Paul keep pointing to this one theme: “Becoming human together.” Our best selves are perfected and manifested when we are in a relationship with God and one another...
Presentation at St. Patricia Church Millennium Memorial Plaza
All are invited to join us on Saturday, October 23rd at 4:00 pm Mass and for the dedication after Mass where a permanent plaque will be installed and dedicated. The plaque will be placed at the base of the Cross and will read:

Dedicated to our beloved Pastor
REV. MARCEL J. PASCIAK

In Appreciation of 14 Years of Service at
St. Patricia Church and School
June 2007 to June 2021

We thank God for his 47 Years as Faithful Priest, Good Shepherd and Devoted Servant.

A remembrance card will also be presented with the names of our generous donors.
Welcome Weekend October 23-24, 2021
We are pleased to announce that our next Welcome Weekend is planned for October 23-24, 2021 at every Mass.

We will invite the congregation to complete the St. Patricia Parishioner/Family Registration Form (similar to the Annual Catholic Appeal process our Pastor administers each February). We want to make sure we have the latest contact information for all Parishioners/Families. The Welcoming Committee members will distribute the Parish Registration Forms and pencils after Communion. We will ask you to complete the Registration Form if:

  1. You are new and would like to register with the Parish.
  2. You had a change of mailing address since October 2019.
  3. You had a change of cell phone or email address since October 2019.
  4. You registered many years ago and never gave us your cell phone number or email address.
  5. You would like to update the members of your household in our Parish records.

If you do not have any changes or updates, then you will not need to complete a Parish Registration Form at this time.

The Parish Registration Forms can be returned after Mass in a sealed box in the Gathering Space, or dropped off at the Rectory during the week, or brought back to Mass next weekend.

Also, we will distribute an updated Fall 2021 St. Patricia Parish Ministry Booklet after Masses on Welcome Weekend. The Ministry Booklet contains a description of each Ministry here at our Parish, along with contact information about joining. Please consider joining a new Ministry to grow your relationship with St. Patricia’s faith community. Fr. Mike Meany will speak at each Mass on the importance and value of joining a Parish Ministry and how our Ministries help our parish and local community grow in the faith.

We will have hospitality after each Mass in the Gathering Space.

St. Patricia Religious Education News
October is the month we celebrate the Blessed Mother and the Holy Rosary. This week at Religious Education Fr. Chris and Mrs. Ramos led a prayer service in honor of Our Lady of the Rosary with all the RE students. Together, they prayed a shortened version of the rosary, reflecting on the Luminous Mysteries. May we all continue to grow closer to Our Lady and to her Son, Jesus, the light of the world!

In Christ,
Christine Ramos, RE Director
Registration for RE is still available. If you have not registered yet, register soon! Classes have already begun. Classes are on Tuesdays, from 6:00 pm - 7:30 pm. We offer RE Classes for grades K through 8, as well as Teen RCIA, and Adult RCIA. Please contact the RE office for more information at reled@stpatriciaparish.com or call us at 708-599-1221.
St. Patricia School Good News
Our Faith in Action - Rosary Prayer Service
October is the month we celebrate the Blessed Mother and the Holy Rosary. Our 5th Grade class led our school and parish family in a lovely Rosary Prayer Service this week. They did a fantastic job! Thank you to all who join us in prayer!
Bobcat Bonanza
Have you joined our Bobcat Bonanza Facebook Raffle Group?

In 2020-21 we raised over $60,000 and used the funds to provide 1:1 Chromebooks to all students K-8th grade. Our 2021 goal is to raise funds toward the renovation of our School Hall (lunchroom) including installing air conditioning in order to expand our after-school enrichment programs. Funds are raised by raffling off prizes through our private Bobcat Bonanza Facebook group. Join our group, share with friends and family, and support St. Patricia School! Click the button below or scan our QR code and it will take you directly to our group page. This is a private group to fundraise for St. Patricia School. Have fun and score some awesome stuff! Volunteers Needed
We are in need of Eucharistic Ministers for Weekend Masses!
If you are interested in volunteering, please contact Ms. Missy Keegan at mkeegan@stpatriciaparish.com or call the Parish Office at (708) 598-5222.
Alpha
Alpha is a program designed particularly for people who would not describe themselves as Christians or churchgoers. It is a series of 15 interactive sessions, typically completed in 11 weeks, including a weekend away, where anyone can explore life and the Christian faith in a friendly, open, and informal environment. Everyone is welcome! There is no charge to attend Alpha – it is free! After a small meal and time spent getting to know one another, a short talk and group discussion will follow. We are looking for volunteers to be part of this wonderful team to serve as Hosts or Helpers. We will have training sessions twice a year. Please view the video below for an overview of the program.

Please contact Missy Keegan (708) 598-5222, mkeegan@stpatriciaparish.com if you have any questions, want to participate in Alpha (or know someone who would like to), or want to be a volunteer as an Alpha Host or Helper.
