News from St. Patricia Parish
"Jesus observed the crowd put money into the treasury. Many rich people put in large sums. A poor widow also came and put in two small coins worth a few cents." -Mark 12:41-42
Dear Parishioners,

As previously announced, Devin Christianson’s (our Maintenance Director) last day of employment was Friday, November 5th. This Saturday, November 6th, we will recognize him at the 4:00 p.m. Mass. Immediately after Mass, we will have a pizza reception in the School Hall.

We are happy for him in that he has found something that will advance his career, but sad, too, for we will all truly miss him.

Devin has been a loyal employee for 29 years. He is smart, thoughtful, and a good worker — cleaning, fixing, cutting the grass, and plowing the snow. He entered into parish life, doing more than maintenance by being a minister to all who came on campus. He has shared in the history of St. Patricia’s Parish — both at the happy times – School Graduations, Parish Anniversaries, Installation of a New Pastor, frequent festive visits from Cardinal Francis George, and at the sad times, the death of long-time parishioners and friends, the death of Father Norbert Chappell and Father Gerald Mulcahy, with whom he was particularly close to. Devin, while sometimes personally involved in the moment, was always present, making sure everything was in order...
Thank You, Mr. Devin Christianson, St. Patricia Director of Maintenance for your 29 years of faithful service!
Please join us for a Thank You Mass on Saturday, November 6th at 4:00 pm Mass. A pizza reception will be held in the School Hall directly following Mass. Please RSVP online below or to the Parish Office (708) 598-5222.

We are sad to say goodbye to Devin but incredibly blessed to have had the honor of working with and knowing him for these past 29 years. We wish him and his family the very best for the future! Though Devin may be moving on, a piece of his heart will always remain here at St. Patricia.

We are grateful for all his hard work and kindnesses! Please be sure to thank him with your presence, or write him a short note of gratitude to the address below.

St. Patricia Religious Education Good News
In November, we celebrate the Saints of God and pray for all the souls of our loved ones who have gone to God. We remember the Veterans who have fought for our country. We set aside a special day to give thanks for all the goodness God has given us. We close our church year by honoring the King of the Universe, Jesus Christ, our Lord, and begin a new year with the Season of Advent, starting the last Sunday of this month. How blessed we are this month!

This week, our Fabulous Fourth Graders are working on creating prayer booklets to help them remember special intentions and to choose prayers. Their teacher, Ms. Christine Purol, and her assistant, Mr. Nicholas Purol, are creatively guiding the class to develop better prayer habits. Way to go, Fourth Grade!

Thank you for your continued support! May God bless you and your family!
In Christ,

Volunteers Needed
We are in need of Eucharistic Ministers for Weekend Masses!
If you are interested in volunteering, please contact Ms. Missy Keegan at or call the Parish Office at (708) 598-5222.
Alpha is a program designed particularly for people who would not describe themselves as Christians or churchgoers. It is a series of 15 interactive sessions, typically completed in 11 weeks, including a weekend away, where anyone can explore life and the Christian faith in a friendly, open, and informal environment. Everyone is welcome! There is no charge to attend Alpha – it is free! After a small meal and time spent getting to know one another, a short talk and group discussion will follow. We are looking for volunteers to be part of this wonderful team to serve as Hosts or Helpers. We will have training sessions twice a year. Please view the video below for an overview of the program.

Please contact Missy Keegan (708) 598-5222, if you have any questions, want to participate in Alpha (or know someone who would like to), or want to be a volunteer as an Alpha Host or Helper.
