News from St. Patricia Parish
"Give the Lord Glory and Honor"
Dear Parishioners,

Recently, I mentioned that our Parish Leadership Night is to be held on Wednesday, September 29th, at 6:30 p.m. Please see the invite below. As you may recall, I mentioned the Renew My Church Initiative. Today, I would like to review some of the reasons that we need to look with fresh eyes on how we move forward.

Renew My Church
“Renew My Church” is a proactive and strategic effort to ensure the sustainable growth of our Church for the future. Renew My Church is meant to ensure that all parishes are vibrant, vital, and life-giving and have the resources they need to carry out the mission of the Church. Renew My Church is a diocesan-wide effort and its success is dependent upon local ownership, participation, input and support.

Why do we need this initiative?
As we look at how to answer the Holy Father's call to be more intentional and responsible in our desire to carry out Christ’s Mission of being people of peace and reconciliation (“See how they love one another!”), the Archdiocesan leadership, the priests, deacons and lay staff, and the parishes’ pastoral councils took an honest look at the significant changes in our Archdiocese (Cook and Lake County) over the past several decades. Let me be clear, these are issues that all parishes throughout the Archdiocese face and are not directed solely at St. Patricia Parish...
Please note: Due to the Church bulletin not being delivered for last weekend's Masses (9/11-9/12) Fr. Meany's Message for this week has been republished. Thank you.
Upcoming Events
On this Catechetical Sunday, September 19, 2021, we come together as both a Parish and Church community to acknowledge the dedication of those who serve as catechists in our St. Patricia Parish family. Let us also pray and honor these most amazing teachers of the Word of God: Catechists of St. Patricia School, Catechists of our Religious Education Program, and the Catechists of RCIA, Teen RCIA, SPRED, Vacation Bible School, and CLOW.

Please join us at the 9:30 am Mass this Sunday as we offer a blessing to our Catechists.
Leadership Night Message from Fr. Meany:
I plan to gather all the Parish Leadership together on Wednesday, September 29th at 6:30 p.m. to celebrate our accomplishments and review some of the goals for the year. The “Renew My Church” Document will be reviewed and discussed. The meeting will take place in the School Hall and dinner will be served. And yes, all interested parishioners are welcome to attend. Please register to attend.

The evening will permit me to become acquainted with all of you and understand how best we can begin to implement the RMC goals and objectives. Remember, these first steps will take time to become an integral part of the parish culture.  I am sure you have heard the wise saying: “Rome wasn’t built in a day!” With this being said, we have to start somewhere and be patient as we move through the ups and downs, which is part of any major endeavor.
Remember the Past, Celebrate the Present, Grow the Future...
The St. Patricia Parish Community is invited to the Installation Mass of Fr. Mike Meany. Saturday, October 2, 2021 at 4:00 pm in the Church. Bishop Wypych will celebrate the Mass. A reception dinner will directly follow in the Parish Center.

Please R.S.V.P. to attend below or
