March 10, 2019, The First Sunday in Lent
Please remember on Saturday night to set your clocks forward one hour
Worship
Stations of the Cross
Held in the nave each Friday evening at six o’clock during Lent, we will walk this intimate devotion to the Passion of Christ that recalls a series of events at the end of Jesus’ life from his condemnation to his burial. On Good Friday we walk at 5:30 pm, shortly before our Good Friday service. Learn more.
True Vine Retreat Recognition at 8:30 Service
Eleven children joined us for our True Vine retreat this February. They learned how the Good Shepherd wants us to abide on the vine and remove any obstacles that may keep us from fully abiding with God. Each child met with Fr. Colin to receive the Rite of Reconciliation. This retreat is part of our sacramental preparation, and we are thrilled to share this gift with our youth.

Pictured with Fr. Colin are Adel Ambrose, Ruby Gaither, Luca Guévart, John Kenneth Gamble, Mason McConnell, Hayden Tibbs, Hayleigh Tibbs, Liza O’Reilly, Ben Bartsch, Ellery Thornton, and Chloe Donegan.

On Thursday, February 21, the Boys & Girls Club of Rutherford County presented St. Paul’s Episcopal Church with the “Volunteer of the Year” award. For three years, several members from St. Paul’s have volunteered to assist the Boys & Girls Club in their commitment to foster the healthy development of the club member youth. Our volunteers have helped in the homework room, taught both vocal and instrumental music, and mentored individual students.

Boys & Girls Clubs provide healthy activities for their members in the areas of academics, sports, drama, art, and fostering good decision-making through a variety means. Anyone interested in volunteering can call the club desk at

An Update From Your Rector Search Committee
We have received our list of nominees for the position of Seventh Rector of St. Paul’s and are busy reviewing their applications, requesting more information, and preparing further questions for each candidate. We are very thankful for the apparent gifts and new opportunities for ministry in each candidate, and we are looking forward to further and more personal contact with each priest.

Thank you for your continued prayers for us and our work, and for the candidates and their families.
Parish Profiles Available
Your Rector Search Committee has worked long and hard to create a Parish Profile that captures the spirit of St. Paul’s. For a minimal expense we were able to print a copy
for each member/family. Please stop by the table in the Parish Hall to pick up your copy. Your copy will be labeled with your name on the back of the profile.
