Remember our Beloved Dead

On October 29 at the 10:30 Mass, we will present a memorial cross to the families of those parishioners who have died this past year: Doris Dickerson, Dennis Robben, Darlene Palm, Margaret Rowe, Sandra Luft, Jerry Barton, Patrick Martin, Mari Beth Rowe, Shirley Woods-Rowley, Delmer Veik, Janet VanDee, Jack Scrignoli, Betty Rooney and John Olson Each small cross, with the name of the deceased on it, hangs in the Reservation Chapel until this Mass, a reminder of the continued prayers and support of the parish family.

All Saints and

All Souls Masses


All Saints Day Masses for this holy day of obligation will be at 12:00 pm and 6:00 pm on Wednesday, November 1st. Liturgical Ministers are still needed; volunteer here.


An All Souls Day commemorative Mass will be held on Thursday, November 2nd at 9:00 am.

Book of the Names of the Dead & Photos of Deceased


You are invited to write the names of your loved ones in the Book of the Names of the Dead, which will be in the gathering space during the month of November. You are also invited to bring in pictures of your deceased loved ones to display on the sanctuary steps during the month of November. 

Baptism Preparation

NEXT TWO-PART SESSION NOV 14/21


Are you expecting a baby or have you recently added to your family? The next two-part session for parents seeking baptism for their child is Tuesday, November 14 and Tuesday, November 21, both starting at 6:30 pm. JYM and Teen Group Meet November 1st

PLEASE NOTE: COME EARLY!


JuniorHigh Youth Ministry and Teen Group meet on Wednesday, November 1st - All Saints Day. Since this day is a holy day of obligation, we will meet in the FDC and then proceed together to the 6 pm Mass. Snacks will be served after Mass in our respective sessions running from 7-8:30 pm. No meal will be served. See you there! 


November Faith Formation


Our November Faith Formation meal will be a prelude to Thanksgiving. Turkey, mashed potatoes, and gravy will be provided by the parish, as well as water, coffee, and milk. We would like families to share in this potluck meal by bringing the following according to your last name: 

  • A-J Desserts 
  • K-P Rolls/Dressing/Stuffing 
  • R-Z Sides/Veggies/Salads

Thanksgiving Pie Sale

BUILDING COMMUNITY ONE PIE AT A TIME


Place your orders for homemade Thanksgiving pies now through November 5th! All pies must be preordered and are $15/pie, payable at time of order. Pie pick-up dates are after Masses November 18-19 and November 21 from 5:30-8 pm. Look for the table in the gathering space to place your orders, sign up to help and for ingredient donations. Trunk or Treat October 29th


Tweens will host our annual Trunk or Treat this Sunday October 29th from 5-6 pm in the south church parking lot. We will have games, prizes, popcorn and trunks full of treats. All families are invited to bring the kiddos for some safe trick or treating. Parishioners are invited to decorate their trunks, dress up in costumes and hand out treats to the children of our parish. Questions? Contact Amanda Underhill.

Catholic Daughters of the Americas will pray the Patriotic Rosary for the Consecration of Our Nation on Saturday, October 28 from 1:30-2:30 pm at The Basilica of St. John, DSM. Patriotic Rosary booklets will be available at no cost and Yard Signs recognizing Veterans will be sold for $20 each. All are welcome!


Dowling Pancake Breakfast. Please join us for the 62nd Annual Dowling Catholic Pancake Breakfast on October 29th from 7:30 am - 12 pm in the Varied Industries Building at the Iowa State Fairgrounds. Mozart's Requiem at St. Augustine, November 9, 7 pm. All are invited to St. Augustine Catholic Church, DSM, for this performance by the St. Augustine Choir with members of the choirs of the Basilica of St. John and the Diocese of Des Moines. Cost is a free-will offering.


Man-Up West November 10, 12 pm, St. Francis of Assisi, WDM. Dr. John Bishop joins Man-Up West Power Lunch to discuss Masculine Genius. Lunch included for a free-will offering. Please register for this event at Iowa Catholic Radio. Heads Up! We will not have a Power Lunch in December as December 8th is the Feast of the Immaculate Conception.


Mary's Helping Hands 5k Charity Run/Walk will be held on Saturday, November 18 at Valley Community Center, WDM. This event aims to raise funds and awareness for the needs of parents and babies in our community. Visit MHH Run Sign-up to register and find more details.

St. Pius X Catholic Church is hiring a Bookkeeper to provide day-to-day assistance to the Parish Business Manager in various financial areas. This includes processing parishioner offerings and maintaining records, processing accounts payable and payroll. Coordinates office support related to IT, communications to members using different media and provides front desk support.
