Regathering News
April 18
The standards set for regathering have now been reached in Lexington, Rockbridge County and Buena Vista. Keeping in mind, vaccinated persons can still contract the virus, we will remain vigilant in our efforts to protect others. We will not regather April 11 as planned due to weather concerns and the YMCA using our Parish Hall this past week. Our plan is to regather on April 18 indoors in the Parish Hall for 8 am and 10:30 am. Other parish and community groups may begin
in-person gatherings in our Parish House the week of April 18.
Watch for further announcements!
Music Ministry
What hymns have you most missed singing together during the pandemic? When I came here in 2018, I asked what hymns most lifted your hearts for the Glory of God. We systematically sang nearly all of them over the following 18 months. Let's do it again when we are able to sing together. Email the title of a hymn you would like to sing to Martha at martha@gracepiscopallexington.org and we will commence when we are able and with guidance from the Lectionary, sing the beloveds.
50 Days - Celebrating Easter with Daily Reflections
by Forward Movement
For Easter 2021, The Rev. Scott Gunn will be writing 50 reflections for the season of Easter. Consider signing up for email notifications of each new post — to read, reflect, and celebrate Easter @ 50days.org
Most days, the reflections are rooted in the assigned scripture readings of the Episcopal Church. Weekday readings come from the Book of Common Prayer for the first week of Easter and Lesser Feasts & Fasts 2006 after that. Sunday readings come from the Revised Common Lectionary (chosen from among years A, B, or C). To mix things up a bit, Musical Mondays are based on an Easter anthem or hymn. Throwback Thursdays offer reflections on some of the writings of church leaders of the first few centuries.
Thanks for coming along for the joyous ride. If you’re inspired, please share these posts on social media. Start a conversation. Say a prayer. Share some joy. Offer a word of hope. Proclaim the astounding Good News that Jesus Christ has triumphed.
Rockbridge Hospice and Rockbridge Interfaith are holding a Community Interfaith Memorial Service Saturday, April 10 at 7:30. The Threshold Singers (most members of Grace) will participate.
