Songbirds! Want to sing some hymns? Enjoy a spectacular view? And bring a beverage to share? Martha and David Burford invite you to their home Thursday nights: July 15, 22, and 29 to do all of that! 7:30-9. Bring guitars, kazoos, clarinets... PLEASE let Martha know if you plan to come so she can set out chairs and throw the pianny lid open! We might even sing some Broadway tunes!Martha@graceepiscopallexington.org

Compassion Camp VBS: Changing the World with Loving Kindness

30 children, youth and adults met June 28, 29 and 30 for our outdoor VBS at Boxerwood Garden and Hopkins Green.

Lexington Presbyterian, Grace Episcopal, Trinity United Methodist and Manly Memorial partnered for 3 days of fun and interactive faith activities. Together we prayed, practiced yoga, sang, played games, made journey sticks, played in the dirt, and had a scavenger hunt at the Farmer's Market. Boxerwood educational staff taught us about our compassionate earth by showing us nature's decomposers and pollinators. We learned that when we cultivate compassion within ourselves and each other, compassion ripples out to others. Thanks be to God!

Forward Day by Day App Receives Major Update

Forward Movement announces a major update to its popular Forward Day by Day smartphone app, as well as a relaunch of its Daily Prayer website, prayer.forwardmovement.org. The complete overhaul includes a new clean design with simplified navigation, as well as podcast integration and expanded customization settings for users.

“We are committed to our mission to inspire disciples and empower evangelists, wherever they are,” said the Rev. Canon Scott Gunn, Forward Movement executive director. “This upgrade to our app and website will provide users with an improved user experience, including customizable features and settings, to strengthen a habit of daily prayer and scripture engagement, both known catalysts to a deepening life of faith.”

To assist visitors with bookmarked pages, the existing version of prayer.forwardmovement.org will remain intact for several weeks as users become accustomed to the new website. By late August, pages will redirect to the upgraded site.
