Good Friday Offering
Jesus said to Thomas, "Do not doubt but believe." (John 20:27)
On Good Friday, offerings are invited from throughout The Episcopal Church to support the ministry of the dioceses of the Province of Jerusalem and the Middle East. Our contributions are used to assist them to promote peace and mutual understanding through pastoral care and health and educational programs throughout the region. College Ministry
A quick update on college ministry. As most of you know, W&L has moved all classes on line for the remainder of this academic year. Assuming the pandemic is under control, students are expected to return to Lexington in early September.
VMI initially extended the spring break until April 17th but has now transitioned all classes on line and moved graduation ceremonies originally planned for May 16th to December.  No decision on summer classes but unless the pandemic is under control they will also be held on line.
Our church family continues to maintain contact with students at both schools. Last Saturday I sent an explanation of the coronavirus and the Eucharist provided by Alex Brown along with directions on how to access our on line services from home. Martha is in touch with our music scholars (Grace, Rob, Michael, Levi and Demmanuel) and solicited help from Nolan to facilitate live streaming of our services. Other parishioners are in touch with the VMI Cadets they host and have offered to help meet and greet students when they return. I will continue to keep in touch as conditions change and information is provided by the Diocese.
Front Porch Ministry
During this time of social distancing Grace has an important role to play in the support of our parishioners and community.
We are developing a Prayer, Telephone and Front Porch Ministry. If you are interested in checking in with 2 or 3 folks by telephone every other day or more
please contact   Sharon Massie
We will assign you names of parishioners to contact.
Virtual Ukulele Lessons
If you are interested in joining in the Ukulele Zoom lessons, email Martha at and she will add you to the group.
What Are Your Most Beloved Hymns?
If you want to share, write your name, the first line of the hymn, and perhaps the number if it is from the '82 Hymnal and, if you feel like it, a couple of sentences about why it is beloved. Of course you can offer more than one. Would be fun to add a page to the website with these. I hope we'll enjoy reading about the hymns and learning more about each other and how the Church's songs have formed us and our faith journeys. Maybe some of our artists will feel inspired to
Boys Home of Virginia Cottage Sponsorship
The Christian Outreach Committee is pleased to announce that our Boys Home of Virginia Cottage Sponsorship is now up and running. Volunteer sponsors have been paired with the nine boys at SAMS cottage and are committed to developing relationships with them.  Communication will begin with letters and pictures, due to the Covid 19 safeguards.  Visits, social events and additional correspondence will follow throughout the year. This is such an important outreach for us and the COC is grateful for all of the interest and support of Grace Church. Outreach has the potential, not only for those who receive it but also for those who give it, to be life-changing. Thank you from the COC.   We will be sharing periodic updates.

Donate to The Bishop's Dollar Fund
The season of Lent offers each one of us an annual invitation to reflect on our blessings as members of the body of Christ. The movement to share out of our gratitude is one of the fruits of faithful reflection. Bishop Mark Bourlakas encourages generous support of The Bishop's Dollar
fund to continue to address a variety of needs throughout the diocese not otherwise covered through our annual budget. You can mail donations to the Diocesan Office (PO Box 2279, Roanoke, VA 24009)
or donate online at
