Holy Day of Obligation
The Assumption of the Blessed Virgin MaryThursday, Aug. 15
The Feast of the Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary, Thursday, Aug. 15, honors the assumption of Mary into heaven. This is a foretaste of our own bodily resurrection at the end of time. Because it signifies the Blessed Virgin’s passing into eternal life, it is the most important of all Marian feasts and a holy day of obligation.

CLOW needs 41 additional volunteers!! Join the Music Ministry
We invite you to a part of the faith-filled, joyful, fun and welcoming community of the Music Ministry. No audition is necessary, and you do not have to read music. Just come to any rehearsal, and we will take it from there. We have something for everyone - children, youth and adults!

We welcome our new Director of Faith Formation Rachel Willoughby
Greetings in Christ! I am so excited to be a member of the St. Matthew community! I have only been here a few days and I am struck with the faith and enthusiasm of this parish. I moved to Charlotte from Augusta, GA, where I was a teacher at Aquinas High School. Prior to that I studied Theology for five years at the International Theological Institute, earning a Masters and Licentiate in Sacred Theology. I dearly love the Mystical Body of Christ and consider Christ and His Church to be my true home. Thank you all for welcoming me with such joy!
