Lenten Study
I invite you to join us for our Lenten study of St Benedict and his Rule. Now, that sounds rather stern and harsh, but hear me out... Benedict's Rule was written in the 6th century for his monks, but it still speaks to all today who long for a meaningful framework for daily life. It encourages us to be people of loving kindness and compassion.
St. Paul's will provide our main text for this study, Always We Begin Again, by John McQuiston. It is a contemporary interpretation of the Rule and is a small book, only 95 pages. In addition, we will use Esther de Waal's introduction to Benedictine spirituality, Living with Contradiction, a series of reflections on the Rule and its place in our fragmented and polarized world. It is widely available on internet sites, even used for $6.
We will meet on Wednesdays after the 11:00 Eucharist, beginning February 24. You are welcome to bring your lunch around 11:45 and we will begin at noon. Please sign-up with Michele or me.
Blessings,
Julia
