Message from your Parish Staff
Hello Parishioners,

My name is Laura Abounader and I just started working at St. Vincent de Paul Parish this past September and have been a parishioner for over 23 years. My two daughters attended St Vincent de Paul parish school and were very active in Mission Trek through middle and high school. I was involved in the Mothers and Others group for over 10 years, where I met many parishioners and their families, and made lifelong friends that are still going strong today.

Our family has enjoyed St Vincent's parish and the community it offers, all the volunteers, as well as the activities they offer. We are thankful for everyone and the gifts they give to the church and the community. I am also thankful to be working at my home parish and helping out wherever I am needed. I love seeing and interacting with people that come into the office, and all the activities that occur there. The staff here is amazing and it feels like I am working with my good friends, which I am.

Since I was a child attending St. Mary's parish in Spokane, I always wanted to find a similar church community on the West-side, and I have found it in St Vincent's. I feel very at home here. Our family loves coming to Mass and celebrating the holidays here, as part of a wonderful faith filled community. We are very lucky to have this. So with that, I want to thank all of you for your continued loving community and the gifts you give to St. Vincent de Paul church. It takes a village and that's what we have here.

Happy Thanksgiving to you and your families.

Mark your calendars. Simbang Gabi is going to be celebrated on December 18 at the 5pm mass. There will be the traditional procession of the parols (stars). This a Filipino tradition of joining together to follow the star to Jesus. We look forward to celebrating with you on December 18.!"

The Filipino Community is going to be hosting a Star Party, (the patrols), on December 11, after the 5pm mass. There will be instructions on how to make your Parol, music, and lots of fun. Be sure to join us in the South Narthex.
Every Christmas season St. Vincent’s has blessed our greater community with our Giving Tree. Once again this year, we will not have a tree with white paper doves to choose from. Just like last year, we will instead be collecting Gift Cards to help our neighbors in need purchase Christmas gifts. Last year, we raised over $8,000 in gift cards! Any gift card is great but if you are looking for recommendations Winco, Walmart, Target, and Safeway are great options. Be sure to get your gift cards from the school. You can call them (253-839-3532), pay on the phone, and Katie will pick them up. Nothing like doing a good deed from the comfort of your couch. If you pick up your own cards please drop them at the parish office. If it is after hours please place them in the black lock box to the left of the Parish office door. Do you think we can get $10,000 in gift cards this year?
CYO Basketball registration is now open!
