PARISH STAFF CHANGE ANNOUNCEMENT:

Offering Thanks to Miranda Mason

& Beginning a Search for a New Parish Administrator

Dear Saint Andrew's Parishioners,

Just over a week ago, Miranda Mason, who has been serving as our part-time Parish Administrator since July of last year, let me know that she had recently accepted a full-time position with Thomas McAfee Funeral Homes, where she had already been working part-time during her time at Saint Andrew’s. Over the past seven months, we have been grateful to have Miranda’s experience and service helping lead our Parish Office, and we will miss her. However, this is a great opportunity for Miranda, and I hope that you will join me in congratulating her as she takes this next step in her professional journey.

Pursuant to the two-weeks notice that she provided, Miranda’s last day in the office as our Parish Administrator will be this Friday. However, Miranda has graciously agreed, based on the availability of her new full-time schedule, to work one day a week at Saint Andrew’s—assisting with bookkeeping and other essential tasks that are a part of the Parish Administrator position—until we are able to fill that role with someone new. Based on her new work schedule, Miranda will generally be in the Parish Office on either Tuesdays or Thursdays going forward. (And I will also be trying to line up parish volunteers to assist on a regular basis in the office in this interim period. If you have the ability to assist in this regard, please let me know.)

One of the gifts of our new staff structure – specifically, now having both a Parish Administrator and a Director of Communications – is that Miranda’s departure should not impact the preparation of our weekly publications (such as bulletins and other worship-related items and The Call), our social media presence, and regular website updates — since Frances, as Director of Communications, is responsible for those tasks (and does so with great efficiency and skill!).

Since I received this news, I have been in touch with our Vestry and with the members of the Staffing Task Force (Phil Buck, Anne Kaiser, Lesley Moore, Dan Randall, and Mtr. Lee Ann Tolzmann) to plan for next steps and solicit their assistance as we look to find and hire our next Parish Administrator.

With that in mind, if you know of anyone who might be interested in the position, please let me know—or feel free to pass along the information. An updated copy of the Parish Administrator job description can be found here. Anyone interested in the position can e-mail a cover letter, resume, and references to me at rector@standrewsgreenville.org. If you have any questions, please don't hesitate to let me know.

In the meantime, I hope that you will join me in thanking Miranda for her service, offering prayers for her as she steps into this new role, and soliciting God’s guidance for Saint Andrew’s as we seek to fill this important position.

And, finally, I look forward to seeing how our next Parish Administrator will come alongside us as we seek to grow together in the knowledge and love of God—remaining steadfast in our commitment to sharing Christ’s love through our common worship, witness and welcome.

Grace and Peace,

Fr. Gary+
