Dear St. Margaret Mary Parish Family,

Greetings on your Friday evening as we begin our Parish Fesitval weekend of activities.

In last week's update, I mentioned the new Mass setting titled "Mass of Spirit and Grace", which was introduced to the community at last week's Masses. You did a great job! Thank you, Peg, for guiding us through a quick practice. I also want to highlight that the KIDS Choir has started up and if you know of any gradeschoolers, 3rd grade and up, that would be interested, there is still time to sign up. More information is posted online,

This Monday, SMM students had a day off school. While students were home, SMM teachers attended a Faith Formation workshop. Following their session, many teachers took the opportunity to participate together in a service project preparing 200 lunches for the Siena Francis House. You can see photos of their project, below. Thank you, teachers, for your care for our SMM students and reflecting Christ's light to those in need in the local community.

The parish care outreach and mission committee has been featuring a ministry spotlight each month on our Facebook page and in the bulletin. The September Ministry Spotlight is the Refugee Resettlement Ministry. The mission of this ministry is to extend a warm welcome to those seeking refuge in our community by providing essential support for the resettlement and assimilation of refugee families.

Leaders work to schedule and organize two moves each year, ensuring that these families find safe and stable homes. For more information check our website.

On October 14th & 15th the Stewardship & Administration Committee will be hosting a stewardship renewal weekend, which coincides with our celebration of the Feast of St. Margaret Mary. In preparation for that weekend, I will be writing a series of letters to help us prepare our hearts and minds for renewal of our committement as a parish to prayer, participation, and generosity. Please take a moment to read the first letter here.

I hope you'll be at SMM throughout our weekend of activities! Friday night begins with Gather in the Church at 7:00 p.m. including Eucharistic Adoration, music, and a reflection. Saturday evening just step outside right after the 5:00 pm Mass to the Saturday Social. Your $25 admission ticket includes two drinks, and live music. The first 250 attendees will receive a festival mug! Be prepared if the weather calls for a change of venue, the Saturday event will be in the Raynor Center. At Sunday afternoon's Festival (3-7 pm) enjoy great food and drinks under the big top, play BINGO, and enjoy music from Finest Hour.
